Gay activists say the mourning over Billy Graham’s death is “disturbing”
The Bridgehead ^ | 2-23-18 | Jonathon Van Maren

I wasn’t going to write anything about Billy Graham’s passing simply because I don’t have anything new or interesting to say about him. I never met him, although my grandmother went to hear him out of curiosity at the Feyenoord Stadium in Rotterdam in 1955 with a fellow nurse. I attend a conservative Reformed church, and so our theology runs to the George Whitefield tradition as opposed to the more Wesleyan tradition of Billy Graham, who apparently preached directly to more than 210 million people—the largest number of anyone in human history.

But the response to Graham’s death was interesting, in that it proved a point that many of us who are engaged in the culture wars have been making for quite some time: The “Love Wins” activists of the LGBT crowd have only vitriolic hatred for anyone who refuses or refused to embrace the redefinition of marriage and the trashing of 2,000 years of Christian belief on sexuality. Canada’s Michael Coren, who is rather renowned in media for being a nasty fellow, has penned a column solemnly urging those mourning Graham’s passing to also remember that Graham didn’t change his mind on gay marriage, and thus unfortunately is consigned in history to standing with pipsqueaks like St. Augustine and G.K. Chesterton, rather than giants like the adept mind-changer Coren himself.

And Coren’s pitiful offering was only the least of it. John Semley, the freelance writer who penned a sloppy and slanderous takedown of Dr. Jordan B. Peterson in the Globe and Mail, tweeted hopefully that Billy Graham is now “reading the scripture in hell, baby!” Teen Vogue writer Lauren Duca tweeted “Have fun in hell, b****.” The Independent announced that the “outpouring of grief for evangelist Billy Graham is disturbing given his homophobic views,” because apparently nobody is allowed to cry when someone who doesn’t agree with gay marriage dies.

Aside from those few examples—I could go on, but they all say more or less the same thing—countless tweets, all wishing that the Hell these activists presumable do not believe exists, would briefly come into being in order to receive Rev. Graham. And why? Because he preached the simple truths about marriage and the human person that Christianity has held since the Crucifixion. There is no simple “live and let live” in a society where gay activists have, for the moment, won the majority of the cultural victories. Even the death of someone who disagrees with them must be greeted with hatred, derision, and the wishes of eternal pain. Don’t cry, they warn everyone. It’s just another dead homophobe.

It’s a shame that “Love Wins” was just a pathetic hashtag.

That isn’t because of God. That is because of Satan and satanic strongholds. You continue to ignore the fact that scripture makes it very clear that today, God is in the business of reconciliation, not condemnation (John 3:16-18).

Pretty basic stuff there Jan. Don’t know what you’re on except the toxic legalistic ministration of death (2 Cor. 3:7) of the Pharisees - the condemnation of the law (2 Cor. 3:9) which has faded away (Heb. 8:13) but still active in hearts of those that refuse grace and continue to be under the law that kills (2 Cor. 3:6).

I think we’re done.

Satan is more powerful than God? Satan can stop God’s “Business of Reconciliation” in Red China, The Islamic World, and much of the western world now? Of course not, so your argument makes no sense! What about the wrath of God? Judgment of God?

Roman’s 1:18 - for the wrath of God is revealed in heaven against all ungodliness...

Yes, Jesus is reconciling souls, but he is and will judge the unrighteous in righteous judgment...lest you forget Psalm 9:17

Psalm 9:17 - the wicked shall be cast into hell, and all nations that forget God

They have such a hatred for Christians. If they were ok their homosexuality, they wouldn’t be on a constant rampage trying to destroy them. Deep down they know that homosexuality is wrong.

Jan, sin has already been dealt with at the cross. The New Covenant is in play.

Psalms is under the law, before the cross and the New Convent.

Your Romans quote stops way too early. After is is judged that man is hopeless (Rom 3:20 - you self effort justifies nothing), that is where the gospel of the grace of Christ starts (Romans 3:21 - righteousness or right standing with God as a gift by grace through faith without works).

Jesus comes not to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved. The ONLY sin that condemns now is the sin that rejects Jesus Christ. (John 3:16-18).

I don’t know why those f@gg0ts are worried about meeting Billy Graham. After all, they are unlike to be admitted to the Kingdom of Heaven.

You answer none of my questions, and keep proclaiming the new covenant platitudes as if there is disagreement. Just because God gave the New Covenant to Israel (and gentiles are grafted in) does not negate the Law. Jesus came to fulfill the Law, not to replace it. Which is why in Revelation 19 Jesus comes back and judges the armies of Anti-Christ? BTW...There are other sins which send people to hell (e.g Mark of Beast, Blasphemy of Holy Spirit, unconfessed and unrepented sin)

His procession today through NC today was amazing. I watched it. They even stopped for lunch in Hildebran, NC.

Very nice to see North Carolina turn out and pay their respects.

In deed it was wonderful to see the crowds watching the Motorcade of the Rev. Dr. Billy Graham being taken to his Library..

I’ve also notice that Fox is not showing any photo’s of BHO having met the Rev. Graham ...Many of us believe that BHO is a Gay man, and since Rev. Graham believes that life is sinful they are keeping, Master Hussein off the news today...It is making me smile...as I don’t really care to see his mug any longer...

The Rev. Graham was a Man of God...and he is now Home and safe with our Lord. He is Blessed to have now touched that, nail scared hand...

Homosexuals (or any nonbeliever for that matter) does not understand that they actually mourn for themselves, then it really convulses the owner of their souls that Christians mourn more for them than they do for Billy Graham.

Today Graham lives forever with Jesus while today they are still really dead.

That is what Graham conveyed, great concern for the dead and telling them that it is not too late.

If they can come to understand they could see and be saved.

He will be presented for viewing Monday and Tuesday at the Library. Wednesday he will be at the Capitol Rotunda in DC.

Friday is the official funeral. They have a Crusade Tent set up.

God Bless Rev. Billy Graham.

They can’t stand their own guilt. They want to stamp out everything that reminds them of it. They protest too much, pointing to the very fact of their sins

Just because God gave the New Covenant to Israel (and gentiles are grafted in) does not negate the Law.

Really. Then what are you going to do with this?

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:14.

As far as Revelation 19 goes, you're getting ahead of yourself there Jan. We are in the age of grace which will be suspended with the onset of the Tribulation. The world is not there yet but will be soon enough. In the meantime, quit condemning sinners who Jesus loves and bled and died for. The Pharisees also loved to condemn sinners but the Pharisees were the only people Jesus sharply rebuked and condemned for their self righteousness.

Can you imagine the pain caused by the cognitive dissonance induced as Satan drives his minions to scream ever louder things that, deep inside, they know are untrue? No wonder they are so ill-tempered and ill-mannered.
