I don't see that as bashing; the question is legitimate and calling out apparent hypocrisy is valid. Like the TV preacher who lives large at his congregants' expense and has a girlfriend (or boyfriend!) on the side, the Rabbi who was recently discovered to be abusing millions of dollars of federal poverty funds or the enviro activist who occupies a couple of mansions and flies his private jet all over to bully others into compliance (Al, are you reading this?). The standard is the standard; if you preach it but don't meet it, you're a hypocrite.

Not fail to meet it even though honest effort is made, but “for thee, not for me”.
But it’s not “legitimate.” You actually expect us to believe you know anything about the finances or inner workings of the Church? Most Catholics don’t understand the details, much less someone who has been spoon fed sound bits and bites to attack Catholics on a blog?
