(CNN)American department store Macy's sparked a fierce debate on Thursday, when it launched a line of "modest clothing" that featured hijabs. The Verona Collection was founded by fashion photographer Lisa Vogl, after she converted to Islam in 2011, and struggled to find modest, fashionable clothing. The brand stands for "women's empowerment and taking pride in one's Muslim identity," according to its website. Macy's decision to stock Vogl's line came after US retailer Nike released a "Pro Hijab" for Muslim athletes, and fashion brand American Eagle's limited-edition denim hijab, which sold out.

They are acknowledging that muzzies are here to stay, and out to make a buck from them.
Macy’s wants to grab some dollars any way they can. Too bad they offended so many.
Why is this news?
Black sheets and pillowcases are sold everywhere.
Just wait until someday some demented Public Schrewll District will mandate that its female students wear hijabs as uniforms.
Can you get wet dog, bacon or barbequed pulled pork scented ones?
Too bad I don’t shop there to be able to ban it.
A hijab is the scarf that Muslim women wear around their head and neck.
They come in a multitude of colors, and the material they are made from can be quite fine.
You may be confusing the hijab with a burka or niqab.
Add Macy’s to my list of muzzy loving companies.
Primitivism.
She’s lying about not being able to find on to buy. Just checked and Macy’s has allowed employees to wear hijabs for years.
my bad
I believe thats what they call an oxymoron. More a symbol of subjugation.
Wear a beautiful mantilla to Mass, and stay away from Muhammadan servitude!!!!
My wife prefers the blood colored ones.../s
Those two things are mutually exclusive. One cannot take embrace women's empowerment while still professing pride in a religion that sadistically and archaically devalues women.
This is just a cheap advertising gimmick to press all the PC -- and cash register -- buttons.
I dont have a problem with a woman wearing a headscarf.
A lot of Americans seem to be unaware of the fact that until about fifty or sixty years ago in this country, all proper ladies wore a hat and gloves when in public.
I do have a very big problem with religious requirements that insist that women cover their face, or otherwise be forced to wear clothing that is suffocatingly hot.
Nothing like rolling over to their muzzie overlords.
The Muslims are moving in in massive numbers and Obama salted them all over the US intentionally. A local grocery store had a Muslim running one of the check out lines recently. I just went on down the row to another cashier. I don’t want my food handled by a member of a terroristic blood cult that believes that all non Muslims should be subjugated or killed.
