My wife will lose her foot to amputation tomorrow or Wednesday. She's had a diabetic ulcer for a week or two so we called an ambulance Saturday. They don't think they can save it. She's in the same hospital as her father, so her mother is able to visit. I'm so shook up I can't eat and just lie in bed.
I am so sorry :'(

I am imagining he would say, the fear around it, especially beforehand, is worse than the reality. It’s true with so many things. Life throws us curveballs but we are resilient. Prayers up for you and her.

So sorry for your situation. Confining yourself to bed will bring harm to you as well, which will add to your family’s current situation.. It may be best for you to visit them (father-in-law and wife) to encourage them which in turn will encourage you. On top of that, be assured you have the entire FR gang with you!
