2 Peter 3:3-4a “Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking following after their own lusts, and saying ‘Where is the promise of His coming’”

That a belief is scoffed at doesn’t make it credible.

And plenty of false beliefs are taken seriously. Doesn’t make them true either.

Nothing is as it appears because who ever looks squarely at the truth and sees what’s actually there?

The weird doctrines are crashing down but they all look solid from the respective bubbles.

So do a lot of trees until a wind storm blows through and knocks them over, complete with their ginormous rootballs.

Fallen on their faces to the earth. Splat. The natural world provides many clues to how things are really going to go down.

2 Peter has Peter specifically describing the days he and his readers were living in as "the last days"

The Millenium is a spiritual reign of Christ that has been present in the community of Christ since Pentecost.

The Bible continually uses the terms Kingdom of God, Kingdom of heaven, Messianic Kingdom and Church interchangeably

• Matt 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
• Matt 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
• Matt 16:13-20: 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
• Luke 11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

  The entire bible is amillenial and the Rapturists can only distort Revelation 20:1-6 -- note "distort" to put their 19th century rapture philosophy

  Yet we need to read what the Apostles themselves were taught and what they believed

  • Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
    2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
    
    
  • Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
    
    
  • Peter says in Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

  Notice that they state that the Apostles and their listeneres were in the last days or the end of the age -- because the Messiah had come

  Peter never changed his mind about this - as we read in 1 Pet 1:20 Christ was destined before the foundation of the world but was made manifest at the end of the times for your sake

  This is relected in Pauline epistles like 2 Tim 3:1 "In these last days" and Jude 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

  We have been in the last days since that first advent of Christ

  Since the Ascension God's plan has entered into its fulfillment. WE are already at 'the last hour'. Already the final age of the world is with us, and the renewal of the world is irrevocably under way
