Why millennials are ditching religion for witchcraft and astrology

When Coco Layne, a Brooklyn-based producer, meets someone new these days, the first question that comes up in conversation isn’t “Where do you live?” or “What do you do?” but “What’s your sign?”

Interest in spirituality has been booming in recent years while interest in religion plummets, especially among millennials. The majority of Americans now believe it is not necessary to believe in God to have good morals, a study from Pew Research Center released Wednesday found. The percentage of people between the ages of 18 and 29 who “never doubt existence of God” fell from 81% in 2007 to 67% in 2012.

Meanwhile, more than half of young adults in the U.S. believe astrology is a science. compared to less than 8% of the Chinese public. The psychic services industry — which includes astrology, aura reading, mediumship, tarot-card reading and palmistry, among other metaphysical services — grew 2% between 2011 and 2016. It is now worth $2 billion annually, according to industry analysis firm IBIS World.

Melissa Jayne, owner of Brooklyn-based “metaphysical boutique” Catland, said she has seen a major uptick in interest in the occult in the past five years, especially among New Yorkers in their 20s. The store offers workshops like “Witchcraft 101,” “Astrology 101,” and a “Spirit Seance.”

“Whether it be spell-casting, tarot, astrology, meditation and trance, or herbalism, these traditions offer tangible ways for people to enact change in their lives,” she said. “For a generation that grew up in a world of big industry, environmental destruction, large and oppressive governments, and toxic social structures, all of which seem too big to change, this can be incredibly attractive.”

I may go to WDW next year. I haven't been there for a few years, and I'd like to see the Avatar expansion in Animal Kingdom.

What has me excited, though, is the 2019 Star Wars expansion. Especially the Star Wars themed interactive resort:

https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2017/07/plans-unveiled-for-star-wars-inspired-themed-resort-at-walt-disney-world/

Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, just confirmed that a Star Wars-inspired resort has been planned for the Walt Disney World Resort. According to Bob, this revolutionary new vacation experience will be a living adventure that allows guests to immerse themselves in an entirely new form of Disney storytelling.

“It’s unlike anything that exists today.” Bob said. “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”

(end of article)

Take my money, Disney, please!

Romans 1:
21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

So you just called me a liar?

She pretty much gave instructions on dark magick, regardless of how she “portrayed” it.

Kids need not be learning high ritual magick for *any* reason.

For all that she *may* have made it look “bad”, it inspired interest in the subject.

Back when Borders was still extant, I saw scads of teeny-boppers perusing the ‘left hand’ shelves of the occult section.

The devil is subtle and deception is his game.

Rowling will have much to answer for.

Anne Rice, of “Interview With A Vampire” infamy, later came to deeply regret writing those books and converted to Christianity.

She watched what her books caused people to delve into and repented.

I know more about this subject than I really should and if I say it is so, then it is..

Do not ever accuse me of lying, again.

The Harry Potter Books Are Witchcraft
http://harrypotterpower.com/

The occult has been a fantasy for ROWLING since she was a child. This article is an eyeopener for anyone who thinks exposing witchcraft to children is child’s play.

It’s always about the parents. Always.

It doesn’t take a village, it takes a parent. Parents have to parent.

Hillary’s “it takes a village” has crossed over to conservatives to also think this way. No, it takes a family! the “village” can mind their own damn business. This is what our public education, supported by conservatives, is now promoting and has been promoting for the last two decades at least.

It takes a village to raise a child. No it takes parents and the family. The village is the government. The village didn’t raise my four kids. My husband and I did. My parents helped. My family helped. The Village had nothing to do with it other than us having to fight them every step.

Then there are those of us who don’t give a damn about who pities whom and just raise our kids as we see fit.

And, consider our kids reading a fantasy story as just that with nothing about middle school coolness lol.

Ha, it really seems to be so called adults that keep this “coolness” crap alive.

So happy my four kids are now adults and survived all the adults in their world and listened to their parents. lol

Do you have kids? Did or do you pity your kids?

Last time I checked, no kids “had” to be “a part of this evil” of reading the Harry Potter books and no one even considers that “uncool” since that is usually a term for adults with issues label today’s kids.

And reading or not reading harry potter has nothing to do with “coolness” at all, lmao.

I’d tell your friend and her crazy mother and your college friends who are also crazy that they are crazy. How’s that?

Conjuring up demons and I’m pro-occult? LMAO

I have no worry about that. I worry about my choices in life and not following the Word as I should. Fortunately, the Christian God is compassionate and fair and just. Still laughing at this superstitious nonsense.I’m sure He is good with that.

MILLENNIALS grew up on HARRY POTTER. The POTTER SERIES play practically nonstop on Freeform. They know every spell, but NOTHING about JESUS CHRIST, LORD and SAVIOR.

A friend of mine writes fanfics that are set in popular franchises like Harry Potter to try to reach out to these millenials. The fan novels start normally (no overt proselytizing) and then gradually become more Christian as time goes on, and end with full-on witnessing of the Gospel including quotes and verse footnotes, etc.

She loses a lot of readership mid story (sometimes with nasty comments), but a few of them will read it to the end, and a handful of those will then PM for more info.

This is true.I don’t even like the book series. Or the movies. I had to watch and read them because my two oldest did. Two youngest didn’t care at all. All four are now adults and just fine, thankfully. And the HP books had nothing to do with that at all.

So, it turns out the MSM’s devotion to portraying Christians as murderous bigots “paid off” big time, eh?

Haha! They are good at taking our money. It is a business.

My husband and two of our kids are excited for StarWarsland. Another movie series that I have no interest in.

My two oldest went over Labor Day Weekend for a sisters weekend before one got married in September. They rode FOP and Navi River ride (I got the FP for FOP for them, lol). They said FOP was awesome! They went to all the parks and had a blast and also went to Universal for HP and loved it. They and their two sisters went when we were there in july 2016 for a wedding and the two oldest loved it, two youngest were eh it’s ok, lol. So two oldest did it again over labor day weekend and loved it again. They said FOP is their fav ride now. And love all HP at Universal.

I’m all about 7DMT and of course the classic PPF. And Soarin” but I prefer the old ones, and BTMRR and Space, and Frozen - yeah I’m old now and can’t do the thrill rides.

My husband and two oldest are so looking forward to Star Wars Land. The two youngest and I are like, yeah whatever, what can we ride lol. No interest in the movie.

Thanks for the article and I’ll pass it on to them. Never thought I’d say this but WDW is fun and relaxing.

Did she regret writing her porno books? Ann Rice The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy? Interview With A Vampire was the least of her worries. The sleeping beauty trilogy is sado-masochism porn. She should apologize for that imo.

Dark or otherwise magic exist because there is a market.

Where were the parents of these teeny boppers? They have to answer for that, not some author who finally came around or not. Ann Rice is a porno, erotica, author. That’s what she is known for.

Rowling wrote the HP series that has been hugely successful for whatever reason. I don’t get it but two of my kids love the HP books and movies. They realize it is a fantasy book/genre. Maybe parents should teach their kids that since it doesn’t take a village.

Ann Rice and her Sleeping Beauty Trilogy...just be thankful they didn’t make a mainstream movie about that.Even teeny boppers would be appalled.

Witchcraft isn’t real to any Christian. Do Wiccan’s have any power? I honestly can not understand how anyone who claims belief in Christ gives any merit to this crap.

And she writes fan fiction on the internet about fake tv shows and fake movies and fake books. And she’s trying to reach out to millenials? Does she post her fanfictions on fanfic.com? LOL

I think I’m no longer a newbie on the internet.

No idea.
First I heard of it.
If she did that after her conversion, I’ll be really disgusted.

Since the kids were too young to drive, I assume their obvious parental units dumped them off at the store, or were off reading erotica in a dark corner.
