I actually had a boss once upon a time who thought “The Da Vinci Code” was genuine.
I Didn’t know whether to be offended, amused, or appalled.

And why is it important if he was/ was not?
what difference would it make?
A 33 year old man in those days was 3/4 of the way through his life.

It all makes since to die a martyrs death for a lie, not. Even the Jews record his death for sorcery in the Babylonian Talmud.

If that is what lost people want to believe, let them believe it. They keep bringing it up, as if the eternal Son needed a wife, not understanding the purpose and order of creation. Let the lost argument their stupid points. It's not like they are interested in God anyway.
As for the church, our theology is framed by God's Word, not man's sinful opinions.

If Jesus is the Lamb of God
And Jesus is the child of Mary
Did Mary have a Little Lamb?

This would be a valid question if Jesus was just a man, same as any other.
But He is the creator of the universe - fully man and FULLY GOD.
And as another poster replied, we (the church) are His bride - He has no other.

If you read the scriptures carefully, the most likely woman to have been married to Jesus was Mary, the sister of Lazarus. I have no doubt she was in love with Him.
She was by His side whenever she could. It was Mary who anointed Jesus with pure Nard, that most likely was part of, if not all of, her dowry. She behaved as a wife would, preparing her husband for burial.
We will never know for sure, we do know He was not married to Mary Magdalene.

Several places in the Scripture he is addressed as Rabbi.
Hebrew law says you have to be married to be a Rabbi.
I’d believe that he was married, but it’s anyone’s guess as to to who was his wife.

The fact is that none of the four Gospels say that Jesus was celibate.
That argument is even weaker than saying Mary had other children just because Jesus had brethren, there are no facts, just assumptions.

Though Jesus was called Rabbi by his followers, there is no indication that he held the formal, official office. His followers addressed him as such simply because he was their teacher.
This may explain why our english bibles, though the entire thing is a translation, says that they said “rabbi (which means, teacher)”.
I always wonder why it called it out.

For those who don’t read, or know, their Bibles, enter Dan Brown, an antichrist Gnostic, to prepare them to accept the false Gnostic Christ, and his mark.
Dan Brown wouldn’t have gotten nowhere 40-50 years ago in America, but now the mostly unbelieving public is ripe for his tripe.

My belief is that knowing his ultimate fate, Jesus would have found it cruel to force a wife to watch him die on the Cross. It was bad enough that his mother had to watch.
To: Gamecock
If you claim to be a believer, then Jesus was the Son of God, come to earth to die for our sins, and be resurrected to rule and reign forever. There are many witnesses that wrote about this "Man", before and after His time on earth. None of them mentioned He was married or even had a girlfriend. Isaiah says nothing about this and none of the 12 mentioned anything about it. When Satan,( Yes, this is straight out of the pit of hell)starts an unsubstantiated rumor with no proof, and people believe such tripe, what does that say about the believers of such tripe? If I tell you the Sun is cheese because it's orange, I have more evidence of my theory than these people do. Davinci Code is a movie. I believe the theory comes from Islam,...what does that tell you?
Entertaining this bilge is just showing the marginal knowledge many "believers" have of their own religion. Would God leave His throne and come to earth because He was looking for carnal sex? The whole scenario misses the whole point of God coming here to die for the church. If God can make a woman from a rib, why not make a harem of babes from Joe's smoke shack dumpster filled with bones rather than come here to be abused and murdered?
If Jesus is God, then bow before Him and repent. If Jesus was a man, he's dead and what difference does it make now?
If we wanted to have an argument about Jesus, why not argue He couldn't raise Lazarus from the dead, or better yet, He didn't come out of the tomb. Maybe Him healing the blind was some sort spiritual allegory about understanding the Kingdom of Heaven.
This piece of satanic bilge comes up every now and then and it still remains the same bilge it started as. These same people don't believe Jesus was born of a virgin or walked on water. Go find a religion you are more compatible with.
