God always withholds His Devine Judgement from His Children.
Noah and his family survived the flood, Lot and his family were evacuated prior to Sodom’s destruction, and true Christians will be gone prior to the last 7 years of this age (which is rapidly approaching).

That was my premise.

That’s a pretty amateurish understanding of biblical prophecy...You’re spewing out milk...You have no meat...

How does all this tie into end-times 2000 or more years later?

Because there will be another temple...

Again is rigid adherence to doctrine or seeing souls saved more important? It is an easy question.

There is a doctrine for salvation...It is thru faith by grace + nothing...It is being born again, from above...If you are not saved according to THAT doctrine, you are not saved...You will not get in thru the back door...

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:”. King James Version (KJV)
1 THESSALONIANS 4:16 KJV

1Thessalonions 5:2...several interpretations:

New International Version
for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

New American Standard Bible
For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.

King James Bible
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

The Day of the Lord
1Now about the times and seasons, brothers, we do not need to write to you. 2For you are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3While people are saying, “Peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.…

TRUMPET:

The trumpet sound was ordained by God as a voice to the people of God in the will of God for Israel in calling Israel together as one nation. The silver trumpets were alluding to the salvation redemption voice of Jesus in the last days for the gathering together of the church as one body with no division or schisms within it.
The Trumpets of God: The Seventh Trumpet vs. The Last Trumpet
www.dennisbeard.org/trumpets-of-god.html

TO BE READY TO GO:

The Parable of the Ten Virgins, also known as the Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins or the Parable of the ten bridesmaids, is one of the well known parables of Jesus. According to the Gospel of Matthew 25:1-13, the five virgins who are prepared for the bridegroom’s arrival are rewarded, while the five who are not prepared are disowned.

As for pre trib, mid trib, or post trib......Only Father in Heaven knows day or hour, although we do know times and seasons.... Israel is symbolized by Fig Tree in Bible, and this website link gives good explanation on birth of Israel:

http://biblefocus.net/consider/v15FigTree/Fig_Tree_and_Israel.html

And it also says this generation shall not all pass away before ALL things come to pass.... SO FROM 1948 UNTIL ???

The Rapture doctrine is the belief that Christ will return before the great tribulation period and take all of the "saved" people to heaven before the destruction begins.

I have no idea what the Rapture is or what’s coming, but I don't believe that interpretation is right, because the premise is wrong.

Because the servant is never greater than the master, whatever abuse Jesus went through, those who follow and serve Christ will also will experience similar abuse from the same types as He did, rather than escape what is to come.

Instead, I like a version in which the rapture is The Purification, a transformative experience given to us by Jesus, where for a time Jesus opens and reveals His Sanctuary in Heaven to each and all of us:

“and there, your eyes unveiled, you will perceive, like a secret revelation: myriads of Angels, Thrones, Dominations, Sovereignties, Powers, all prostrated around,

The Ark of the Covenant;

then, a Breath will slide over your face, and the Powers of Heaven will shake, flashes of lightning will be followed by peals of thunder; "suddenly upon you will come a time of great distress, unparalleled since nations first came to existence;" for I will allow your soul to perceive all the events of your lifetime; I will unfold them one after the other; to the great dismay of your soul, you will realise how much innocent blood your sins shed, from victim souls; I will then make your soul aware to see how you had never been following My Law; like an unrolled scroll, I will open The Ark of The Covenant and make you conscious of your lawlessness;

Like I said, I have no idea what’s coming, but I both enjoy and am terrified by the above being The Rapture event.

This could be the event Garabandal talks about, also, but I’m just guessing about that, too.

Anyway, I think it's fascinating just how many different interpretations there are, from among the Rapture believers themselves all the way to those who don't believe in it all.

So many differences between those who each claims to know for sure. Fascinating!

Thanks for posting this topic...and for putting up with the abuse that's sure to follow. Yikes...

I appreciate the fact that you announce yourself as a Mormon. There are some who are not willing to make such an admission. But if you do not accept some of the basic tenants of the Christian faith, such as the Trinity or saving faith in Christ, why do you feel you'll understand the end times or the scriptures at all?

The book of Colossians was written so that we might compare deceptive and heretical beliefs against certain truths of God. Things that you should ask yourself are the following found in Col 1:13-22:

If you answer "No" to any of these questions you are not embracing the truths of God as recorded in scripture and are deceived. And, as we are warned in scripture, our hearts are deceitful. I pray that you give thoughtful consideration to these passages.

But if you do not accept some of the basic tenants of the Christian faith,

A false premise HarleyD. That's the same argument every democrat makes when they bring up any issue; you can't be a good person if you don't believe this way, if you don't vote this way, if you don't support blah blah...or whatever standard they set.

Which version of the "Christian faith" are you referring to? The ones that baptize babies or the ones that refuse to baptize babies? The ones that ordain women or the ones that refuse to ordain women? The list is huge.... but you're going to have to be a more specific.

Do you believe in unity in the faith as a sign of the true Church of God?(Eph 4:5, 14;John 10:16)
Can you name the prophet that wrote the Nicene creed? (Amos 3:7)

If you answer "No" to any of these questions you are not embracing the truths of God as recorded in scripture and are deceived.

It is possible to embrace the truths of God and reject the false doctrines of apostate churches at the same time.

The questions you posed have some truth in them, however the way your "Christian faith" understands and applies those truths is false. It's the understanding of men who have no prophetic ties to God. It's all based on their own limited understanding.

I am sorry to hear you have been hoodwinked into the cult but the Bible plainly tell us not to add or take away. Joseph Smith clearly violated these warnings

No, the Bible does not. Before you answer I hope you realize that the Bible was put together a little at time... The Book of Revelation wasn't widely accepted as scripture till around 400 years after Jesus' left the earth. Definitely added to...

The fact is there was no prophet that decided which writings should be in the Bible and which should not...even though Amos 3:7 clearly states that God will nothing without a prophet.

God can add whatever He wants, when ever He wants. He can reveal, has revealed, and will reveal many things yet to come. Because His work isn't done.

Jesus disagrees with you.

Matthew 18;20

20For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

That is true, i was only referring to religious institutes and not a body of believers.

A false premise HarleyD.

Nothing false about it. These are simple truths clearly spelled out by the Apostle Paul in the scripture that were used to combat the heresies at the church of the Colossians. They are unedited except to make them into questions for monitoring yourself. But it isn't surprising you reject these statements of faith. The other Mormons did as well. They got two right.

Which version of the "Christian faith" are you referring to?

There is only one faith. Read the scriptures.

It's the understanding of men who have no prophetic ties to God. It's all based on their own limited understanding.

Yeah, I hear you. This is what Gnosticism is all about...special knowledge or insight that others don't understand but we do. There's a lot of that going around these days. Fact is, we have been given all wisdom and knowledge to understand the things of God. It's all in the scriptures and they're not complicated. We just want them to be-or at least claim to others we know best.

Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

Gal 1:6-9 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

Watch out for angels carrying a different gospel.

No one said anything about the back door. Seeing souls saved is what we are commanded to go forth and try to do not having petty arguments over end of time doctrine which can does distract and cause rifts.

I watched a pastor who was not a millennialist preach a sermon and he barely touched on a verse in Revelation. In the congregation was a former pastor, a millennialist, retired for health reasons that ballistic on the church deacons, he showed his behind and sowed discord amongst the congregation, finally driving away the church pastor and a chunk of the congregation, causing great harm to the church and it became stagnant for 6-7 yrs all because of dogma and doctrine. Souls not being saved, just going through the motions to follow his and a couple of other members Biblical interpretation.

Finally the congregation had enough of this and turned away from this dead end, Spirit killing theology. This pastor in later years sought out the chairman of the deacons he had insulted and attacked subversively and apologized for his behavior. It took 8 yrs before the church started growing again, not with just new members but with converts as well. The current pastor is a millennialist and part of his deacon body and congregation are not but they are working on following the great commission and the church is strong and growing in the community.

Teaching correct doctrine is not Spirit Killing...

Seeing souls saved is what we are commanded to go forth and try to do not having petty arguments over end of time doctrine which can does distract and cause rifts.

Teaching doctrine in your church creates rifts???

2Ti_4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti_4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

The sincere milk of the word is doctrine...You can grow without correct doctrine...And like I said earlier, if you are teaching the wrong doctrine, those poor souls are not getting saved even tho they think they are...

What specifically are you guys counting on to get to heaven???
