How Will The Media and Governments of the world explain The Rapture?
Billy Graham Evangelistic Association et al. ^ | June 19, 2017 | RightTackle 44

Posted on 06/19/2017 10:24:21 PM PDT by righttackle44

If and when the Rapture of the Church occurs and Christians are spirited off the face of the earth to Heaven, how will the secular governments and media explain the phenomenon? Millions of people will suddenly be gone from the societies and populations of the earth. Many who thought or said that they were Christians, will still be here.

No born-again Christians will be here.

The Billy Graham article is cited to provide information.

They won’t have to because they’ll all be dead.

First and Second Thessalonians should never be studied separately. Second Thessalonians is a response to the Thessalonian’s response to First Thessalonians. Both are about the Resurrection. The resurrection of the dead is key.

2 Thess. 2

2 Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, 2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

5 Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?

Hey Yosemitest, I am really curious about your opinion on something. In the following verse, how do we know what “Last Trumpet” this is referring to? Is this the same last trumpet in Rev. 11?

1 Cor. 14:51-52
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Thanks!

There’s the problem right there- baptists in cities and liberal states are not what they used to be- in conservative states, we very much are still what we used to be- liberal cities are following hte lien of the3 southern baptists which have strayed far from the truth unfortunately

I’ve got some very very interestingness facts concerning babylon and Saddam hussein, who believed he was the descendant of king nebuchadnezzar- Saddam began rebuilding babylon, and it’s still being rebuilt today by UNESCO- I’ll post them later, ro you can go to youtube and look up David Jeremiah and look for his babylon sermons- very interestingness stuff-

Will Christ come back soon? I don’t know, I really hope so, but signs do appear to be pointing that way IF he comes back great- IF not, we’ll carry on like we always have- and still look forward to His return

>>My friend, even Satan and his minions “believe” in Christ. Even they know without a doubt that Christ is real. But they chose to NOT follow or surrender to Him.<<

That’s an interesting concept that Satan and his minions have trusted in Christ for their salvation.

In Romans 12 Paul is exhorting BELIEVERS to offer themselves as living sacrifices.

The Corinthian believers were far from what you describe five years after the departure of Paul They were still CARBAL and immature.

You are adding to the Gospel message and subtracting from the FINISHED work of Christ.

>> Paul was answering the jailer who asks how he can be saved. It was a quick, general answer, but both Paul and Jesus Himself went on to tell us more details. <<

Where does this come from? Is the same true about the Ethiopian eunuch, about the thief on the Cross, about Cornelius.

Lastly, do you intend to add baptism as a saving requirement.

You are wrong about believing is a credit to the believer. The merit is in the object of faith.

Perhaps you are aware of the overt sins a believer commits. How about mental attitude sins? How about worry? covetousness? jealousy? Your focus is too narrow if you are only considering giving up carousing. Is the believer to forswear anxiety as well?

>>Merely “Believing” is a works-based action.<< Wrong, wrong, wrong. We aren’t just believing . . . We are exercising belief, faith, and trust in Christ Jesus, not in our surrendership. (btw, how do you know if you have surrendered enough? As a non-believer did you consider all the possibilities?

How do you surrender your will? An hour after you have surrendered it, and you want ice cream, is it OK to get it back and have some?

The problem is that you do not accept grace and want to earn salvation through surrendering, repenting, confessing, and . . . baptism(?).

Just finished Isaiah, now reading through Jeremiah and they also do not support the rapture ideas. I wouldn't waste one second trying to disuade those who believe that the Bible says there will be a rapture because experience has shown they are impervious to evidence.

Paul who is blamed for writing a rapture doctrine, did not teach a rapture doctrine either. Paul describes what the 'feared' tribulation will be in Ephesians 6. Particularly very 12:

For we wrestle NOT against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in 'high' places.

(DNC and all its religious affiliations)

Rapture doctrinaires have no clue who that 'feared' anti-Christ literally is, thus they think The Creator is not able to protect them during the tribulation of mass deception.

Bob,
Sounds interesting. Some things to consider.

2017 is 100 years since the Belfour Declaration and the surrender of Jerusalem by the Ottomans

2017 is 70 years since the UN declaration making Israel a state

2017 is 40 years since the retaking of Jerusalem by the Jews

2017 features the constellation arrangement described by John in Rev 12:1-2 (only once in 7000 years

This is a bit to unravel. There is a week of years to go to finish Daniel’s prophecy. It is unlikely that those 7 years will all occur after the 6th Trumpet or at the ascension of John in Rev. It probably will not take a week of years for the two witnesses to revive in Jerusalem. So what is your point? So what are you saying?

There is nothing to unravel if you know who the 'anti-Christ' literally is. Christ declared in Mark 13:23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

There is absolutely no 'good' reason why you or any other student of the WORD to not know who the anti-Christ literally is.

Now about Daniel's prophecy... Do you not think Christ knew what Daniel penned? How about, Mark 13:19? Christ speaking, quoting Daniel 12:1 .... For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

Then Christ updated Daniel's prophecy in verse 20.

20 AND except that the LORD had shortened those days (of Daniel) no flesh should be saved: BUT for the elect's sake, whom He hath chosen, He has shortened the days.

The rapture doctrine ignores 99.9% of the WORD and totally distorts what Paul was teaching. No where does Paul, or Christ state the laws of gravity will be stayed, ended, or a miracle escape. Flesh simply is not going to get 'caught up' any time.

>>I am trying to understand the logic here. Why would Christians not want a rapture?<<

It’s part of Calvinist doctrine to reject the Rapture. Today, the “Reformed” believe that God is through with Israel and views the Church as its replacement (i.e. Replacement theology). The Rapturists or Dispensationalists say that God has reserved seven more years (Daniel’s 70th Week) for finishing his work with Israel. So it is part doctrinal. And things get heated in these discussions. Dispensationalists are often called cowards, etc.

Some want to go through the Tribulation so that they can suffer for Christ. After all, there’s not a lot of martyrdom in the USA. They want to test their metal, so to speak.

The play actor, that will call himself Jesus, is not a flesh born of woman, entity. It is none other than the devil himself. Why are so many so afraid of the devil, they need to escape his lies?

Heaven is wherever God is, and God's most favorite place is described in Ezekiel 16. Jerusalem, and He intends on reclaiming it.

Yes He will, He will RETURN with all His saints for His brethren, the people of Israel.

"I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on Me, the One they have pierced, and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a firstborn son." Zec 12:10

There will be Christians after the rapture, many many will turn to the Lord during the Great Tribulation. It is the Church (His Bride) who will be raptured, there will be no “church” on earth afterwards, but there will be believers in Jesus, many of them Jewish believers receiving Him as their Messiah.

You are jumping around on the discussion here. You suggested that Rapturists might see the need to insert seven years after the 6th Trumpet. Balderdash.

You suggest with this post that the topic was the AntiChrist.

>>There is absolutely no ‘good’ reason why you or any other student of the WORD to not know who the anti-Christ literally is.<<

Why not.? Paul says we’re not going to know for a while in 2 Thess 2:7 but the one who now holds it (AntiChrist) back willl continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.

Now about Daniel’s prophecy... (Great!)

Do you not think Christ knew what Daniel penned? (Yes)How about, Mark 13:19? Christ speaking, quoting Daniel 12:1 .... For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. (And . . .??? How does this modify or negate Daniel’s prophecy? The time of “Jacob’s trouble” was a well-established doctrine actually predating Christ 500 years —coming from Jeremiah 49.

>>For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.<< Go on . . .

>>BUT for the elect’s sake, whom He hath chosen, He has shortened the days.<<
The elect are the Jewish remnant which had fled Jerusalem at the Abomination of Desolation. They have been avoiding the AntiChrist since the middle of the Tribulation.

So what is your point????

This next statement is meaningless:
>> The rapture doctrine ignores 99.9% (there’s still hope then??) of the WORD and totally distorts what Paul was teaching. (In I Thess or 2nd Thess, in John 14 too?) No where does Paul, or Christ state the laws of gravity will be stayed, ended, or a miracle escape. (hmm, there’s types in Enoch and Elijah)

99.99999999%!!!!!!

RAPTURE DEFINED AND DESCRIBED:

After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.--1 Thess 4:17
