FULL TITLE: Student, 18, is suspended for two days and barred from her Christian high school's graduation ceremony because she is PREGNANT
A high school senior will not be allowed to participate in her high school's graduation ceremony because she is pregnant.
Maddi Runkles, 18, from Boonsboro, Maryland, goes to Heritage Academy, a small private Christian school in Hagerstown.
She discovered she was pregnant in January, just a few days after receiving a college acceptance letter, according to the New York Times.
But after she announced her pregnancy, Runkles was suspended for two days.
School officials also removed the 18-year-old from her position on student council and told her she wouldn't be able to join the rest of the senior class at graduation in June.

What is worse Christian schools doing this gives fodder for Planned Parenthood to keep abortion legal.
freak state ping
Basically hypocrites.
This is a private institution. I have zero problem with them banning pregnant girls (assuming they aren’t married and were not raped).
That is baloney.
Let the girl alone.
You are pushing her and others in a direction we wouldn’t want them to go...
If they were hanging on the cross they would have told Barabus “Too bad”...
Pro life and avoiding fornication are not mutually exclusive in fact they kinda work together-
What if she had violated one of the other school rules, such as plagiarism? Would you think the penalty was reasonable, too harsh, or too light?
Actually, this was the way things were at many schools in the 50’s and 60’s—even at colleges. As long as you didn’t show (don’t tell, don’t show), you could get away with graduating without incident. Some were even allowed to graduate as married women, if the guy stepped up to the plate. They used to call this “standards”....
that senior boy who got her pregnant ...yeah the expectant father...
why are they letting him graduate ???
(if that is the case etc...are the boys punished too at that school ???)
meanwhile she worked for it...she should be able to graduate with the class...
all they are doing by ostracizing her is teaching the younger girls to hide a pregnancy...abortion etc
I do not agree with shaming her. But sinning does has consequences.
Nana if you have not already seen this video by Mark Crutcher please do so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9xeQ6w0GSY
I must have missed where the father was a student at the same school.
“I do not agree with shaming her. But sinning does has consequences.”
Most agreed but in this day and age this school is teacher her and future girls to have an abortion to avoid this trouble.
Now girls at this school will know they can’t be in school activities or graduate if they get pregnant so they will seek abortions or abortion pill.
What is your point?
“I must have missed where the father was a student at the same school.”
this school did not even ask who it was nor try to “punish” him. They never do. They only punish the girls because the baby is “evidence” of the crime. So what do the girls do? Yep the have an abortion.

This school had rules.
This girl signed off on the rules.
She broke the rules.
It’s a private school....they can decide what to do to enforce their decision.
No one is stoning this girl
No one is suggesting abortion or kicking her out to the curb.
They are just saying she can’t walk across the stage.
Actions have consequences.
you missed a lot go back and read my comments again...
You are arguing facts not in evidence. For all we know, the father could have no affiliation with the school.
Bingo!
