>“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.”<

.
And what should our reaction be when tears, a broken heart and a cry for help do not seem to have an affect on God?
Wish I had this priest’s faith in God and his conviction in God’s nearness.

One of my favorite movies is DreamWorks “Joseph King of Dreams” especially since I am a bit more like Jonah. Grumpy and always wanting to head in the opposite direction. Next is “The Prince of Egypt” which happens...400 years later. yowza. I’ll pray with ya.

Yes, the silence of God...

you just sort of have to hang on and hope.... and remember even Jesus asked why God had forsaken him..

Oh how I understand. God hears and answers all prayers ... in His time, not ours. For decades, I prayed that my step father would be baptized. The older he grew, the more cynical he became about religion. Then, he awoke one morning and told my mother that he wanted to become a Catholic. She smiled but didn't take him seriously. he persisted, relating a dream he had in which he heard a voice calling him that he recognized as that of Christ. When mom called to tell me the news, I broke down in tears. A prayer that began more than 50 years earlier, had been answered.

2 years ago, at age 83, my dad was received into the Catholic Church. My daughter and I were his witnesses.

Never abandon prayer! Recall the Parable of the Persistent Widow in Luke 18:1-8.

As another freeper said, “It’s in God’s time, not man’s time.” Immerse yourself in God’s Word and/or a daily devotional. (I was given Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. It helped me and continues to help me daily talk and hear from/with Jesus!) Also, during the deaths of my mom, grandmother and dad in just over a year, I kept Psalm 23 printed in my wallet. I knew it by heart but some days were so stressful that I would forget verses and at times could not get them to process! So, written form was stress free! Call CBN or another prayer line that is open 24/7 and let blessing fall on you!
