1. LORD, remember David And all his afflictions;
2. How he swore to the LORD,
And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3. Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house,
Or go up to the comfort of my bed;
4. I will not give sleep to my eyes
Or slumber to my eyelids,
5. Until I find a place for the LORD,
A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.
Abba Father,
Your Servant David, the Sweet Psalmist of Israel,
A Man After Your Own Heart,
Wanted So MUCH to build a House For You!
"Why Should I live in a Palace," he said,
"While The King of The Universe lives in a TENT?"
Yet, because of David's sins,
You did not allow him to achieve this goal,
And had Solomon build Your Temple instead.
How Often do we ourselves set Great Goals
Of Wondrous Things We Intend to do for YOU,
When YOUR Will is To Dwell in The Sanctuary of Our Hearts,
And For us To Make OUR Bodies The Temple of Your Holy Spirit,
To Treat YOUR Creation With Dignity and Respect for Life,
Worshiping YOU, and not the THINGS that Your Hands Have Made.
6. Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah;
We found it in the fields of the woods.
7. Let us go into His tabernacle;
Let us worship at His footstool.
8. Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place,
You and the ark of Your strength.
9. Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness,
And let Your saints shout for joy.
10. For Your servant Davids sake,
Do not turn away the face of Your Anointed.
Father, We Praise You Joyfully,
Everywhere we Find Ourselves!
We Worship at Your Footstool,
We Sing Of Your Glory!
We Thank You For Your Holy Word,
Which You Have meticulously preserved for us,
By Your Holy Spirit,
Through Your Jewish People.
We Pray For Them Now,
As We See the Whole World Turning on Them.
For Your Servant David's Sake,
Do Not Turn Your Face From Them!
11. The LORD has sworn in truth to David;
He will not turn from it:
I will set upon your throne the fruit of your body.
12. If your sons will keep My covenant
And My testimony which I shall teach them,
Their sons also shall sit upon your throne forevermore.
Thank You, Father,
For Your Word,
For Your Will,
For Your Promise,
For Your Messiah.
13. For the LORD has chosen Zion;
He has desired it for His dwelling place:
14. This is My resting place forever;
Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
15. I will abundantly bless her provision;
I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16. I will also clothe her priests with salvation,
And her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17. There I will make the horn of David grow;
I will prepare a lamp for My Anointed.
18. His enemies I will clothe with shame,
But upon Himself His crown shall flourish.
We pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,

11 The Lord swore an oath to David,
a sure oath he will not revoke:
One of your own descendants
I will place on your throne.
12 If your sons keep my covenant
and the statutes I teach them,
then their sons will sit
on your throne for ever and ever.

Amen, left that other site, to our LORD who keeps His promises to us

This is beautiful. David's heart was perfect so it all works out in the end:
11. The LORD has sworn in truth to David;
He will not turn from it:
I will set upon your throne the fruit of your body.
1 Kings 8
16 Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
18 And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.
19 Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

Solomon was speaking of himself, but there is more to it because Solomon's heart wasn't perfect like the heart of his father David. Solomon only built the physical temple. The temple of the body though, the one with the perfect heart... there's David's temple. The Messiah is known as the son of David, not the son of Solomon. He will build, restore, and rectify the temple of the heart/body/mind/soul.
Solomon built a building. David's heart is the heart of the spiritual man who is the spiritual Temple, because it was David's heart that was whole and completely connected to God. David always repented and got back on track by default. He couldn't stand the separation he caused.
Thus thru David's literal physical son, the one who is the full manifestation of David's heart, mind, soul, strength, and spirit, David really does get to build the Temple. It's the one *not* made by human hands.
The pattern for the spiritual Temple is David's heart. The blueprint is written out in the Shema.
As far as the enlarged ayin and dalet in the first verse of the Shema, it's the word "witness", but also an acronym for "einei David" (עיני דוד), David's eyes (how he viewed things).
It is also an acronym for city of David (עיר דוד), which is the fortress of Zion, where David dwelt. IOW, where David's heart resided.
2 Sam 5
7. Nevertheless David took the fortress of Zion; the same is the city of David:...
9. So David lived in the fortress, and called it the city of David; And David built around from the Millo inward:
Look at the first line of the Shema, and see David (דוד) three times:
Deu 6.4. Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Also, the red letter 'word' shows up in Psalm 141.5, a verse known for its difficulty in translation. A post for your thread on Psalm 141, which ties into today's:
13 For the Lord has chosen Zion,
he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,
14 This is my resting place for ever and ever;
here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.
>>>
17 Here I will make a horn[b] grow for David
and set up a lamp for my anointed one.
18 I will clothe his enemies with shame,
but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown.
To paraphrase/summarize a song:
Am echad lev echad v'ish echad. Shema Yisrael am echad. Kol Yisrael David. (achim)
Eze 37.24. And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd; they shall also follow my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them:
king: who or what reigns supreme in a person's mind, heart, and life. "David" is embedded within and inseparable from the name YHVH. YHVH is the name embedded within the name/tribe Yehuda (יהודה).
Very thoughtfully prepared and presented, Ezekiel. Bless you!
You’re very welcome. I’m happy you found it interesting and useful. There’s always so much more.
The Will Be Done

3 I will not enter my house or go to my bed*,
4 I will allow no sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
5 till I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.
*bed = 'eres (ערש). It only occurs in the Bible 10x.
It's the modern word for a cradle, crib. A lullaby is a shir 'eres (שיר ערש), lit. a cradle song.
Anyhoo, a bed/crib/cradle is a place of rest. So how sweet that the abbreviation for the eve of the Sabbath (erev Shabbat - ערב שבת) is the same spelling: ער"ש
Hebrews 4:4-5 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Beautiful presentation and teaching again today, LTOS. Amen and thank you.
