...If the Church were to change its rules on shared Eucharistic Communion it would go against Revelation and the Magisterium, leading Christians to commit blasphemy and sacrilege, an Italian theologian has warned.
Drawing on the Churchs teaching based on Sacred Scripture and Tradition, Msgr. Nicola Bux, a former consulter to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, stressed that non-Catholic Christians must have undertaken baptism and confirmation in the Catholic Church, and repented of grave sin through sacramental confession, in order to be able to receive Jesus in the Eucharist.
Msgr. Bux was responding to the Register about concerns that elements of the current pontificate might be sympathetic of a form of open Communion proposed by the German Protestant theologian, Jürgen Moltmann.
The concerns have arisen primarily due to the Holy Fathers own comments on Holy Communion and Lutherans, his apparent support for some remarried divorcees to receive Holy Communion, and how others have used his frequently repeated maxim about the Eucharist: that it is not a prize for the perfect, but a powerful medicine and nourishment for the weak.
The debate specifically over intercommunion with Christian denominations follows recent remarks by Cardinal Walter Kasper who, in a Dec. 10 interview with Avvenire, said he hopes Pope Francis next declaration will open the way for intercommunion with other denominations in special cases.
The German theologian said shared Eucharistic communion is just a matter of time, and that the Popes recent participation in the Reformation commemoration in Lund has given a new thrust to the ecumenical process.
Pope Francis has often expressed his admiration for Cardinal Kaspers theology whose thinking has significantly influenced the priorities of this pontificate, particularly on the Eucharist.
For Moltmann, Holy Communion is the Lord's supper, not something organized by a church or a denomination...

According to THE BIBLE that Rome assembled:

which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Selective quoting anyone??
15 If your brother or sister[b] sins,[c] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.[d] 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
Isn't it just a wee bit embarrassing when your #1 guy gets chastised in front of the rest of the folks for being WRONG?

The church does not, nor does salvation, depend upon Catholic rules and added rituals to prove truth.
You've left out a wee bit... again.
1 Corinthians 4:15 New International Version (NIV)
15 Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.
Then why; against what MATTHEW wrote; do you once again call OTHER men Father?
Your answer is avoiding the kettle.
"Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life."
RB:
Show me in scripture where the faithful must constantly argue with Peter and the churchs authority.
Elsie:
You mean like you FR catholics do every day in your JUDGEMENT of Francis?
Hypocrits!!
RB:
I agree with you here, Elsie, but only in the sense that the “FR catholics” do not include this Catholic.
That is due to the fact that “Francis” is a false pope, which fact only an extreme minority of those on FR who identify as “Catholic” agree.
In fact we haven’t had a true pope since A.D. 1958.

Perhaps it is because the men who composed the books of the Bible were biased toward the written word.
There were astronomically more Christians who set a good example living Christian tradition than who wrote scripture. Based on ealgeone’s above logic, therefore perhaps the vast majority of Christians at the time of the writing were biased toward tradition.
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers.”
Ephesians 4:11
(Elsie:) Nope; no ‘fathers’ listed.
RB: Nope, no “Protestants” listed either.
“St. Paul tells the Corinthians, that he is their only spiritual Father:
Then why; against what MATTHEW wrote; do you once again call OTHER men Father?”
Ask Saint Paul:
St. Paul tells the Corinthians, that he is their only spiritual Father: If you have 10,000 instructors in Christ, yet not many Fathers.
1 Corinthians iv. 14,15)
[14] I write not these things to confound you; but I admonish you as my dearest children. [15] For if you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet not many fathers. For in Christ Jesus, by the gospel, I have begotten you.
Perhaps Saint Paul who allowed for himself and others to be called “father”, along with the Catholic Church) had a better idea of what Jesus was conveying in the Matthew 23 discourse than the Protestants.
You could also ask FR poster “ealgeone” who calls the early church fathers the ECF’s. Does he have a problem with early church fathers being called so without condemning its use?
RB:
Well, pv should have qualified, and I am sure he will agree, that the 1983 Code of Canon Law is not a Catholic document. That is because it was authored by heretics and apostates, not the true Catholic Church (see post 19).
metmom:
You got proof of that or is that just your opinion?
See:
Is that sufficient proof?
You too have left out a wee bit:
In Christ Jesus thousands of Catholic Priests became the father of millions through the gospel.
One of the reasons we have the NT canon is so we can have an agreed upon set of writings with which to compare false teachings that arise.
We see examples of false teachings in Galatians and 1 John being addressed by Paul and John.
There are reasons the Protoevangilium of James, the Gospel of Peter, the Epistles of Clement, the Didache, 1 and 2 Clement, Shepherd of Hermas and others were not included.
I again refer you to F.F. Bruce's work, the Canon of Scripture, for more insight to the formation of the NT canon.
If one cannot read the NT and determine how one should conduct their life as a believer, then all of the tradition in the world isn't going to help them.
