Pope Francis said the death of Cuba's revolutionary leader Fidel Castro was "sad news" and that he was grieving and praying for his repose.
Francis expressed his condolences in a Spanish-language message to Fidel's brother, President Raul Castro on Saturday.
The pope, who met Fidel Castro when he visited Cuba last year, said he had received the "sad news" and added: "I express to you my sentiments of grief."
Fidel Castro, who was a professed atheist, was baptized as a Catholic and educated in schools run by the Jesuits, the religious order of which the pope is a member.
The Pope is a dope.
Castro and the Pope both share a love of communism.
So the pope is just a commie rat, grieving for his ilk.
The Vatican has no papal impeachment process that I know of.
this idiot can’t leave us too soon.
Communists stick together.
Frankie boy, c’mere,c’mere Frankie. Frankie, listen me. You’re asshole. You hear me Frankie? You’re a f**king asshole Frankie.
The first BROWN POPE from lower America.
LOSER
One of these guys is a foolish Marxist dictator who applies and advocates ideas that destroy civil society. His policies turn nations into bankrupt and gang-infested Banana Republics where the only industry left is rolling cigar leaves. And were Hitler alive today, this man would rush to meet him and become his friend.
The other guy died today.
I thought Stan Laurel died in 1965.
They were generally there for about a month when it hit them that all the officers in the People's Revolutionary Army were white as were all the top party officials and the blacks were on the bottom rung ladder if not in a hole under the ladder.
Is the Pope Catholic?
Huh?
He is probably more pure European then most of the US. In Argentina they wiped out all the Indian tribes. Everyone who lives there is a recent import.
AMEN!!!
Election 2016 Battle of Midway for the Democrat Party.
Hardy har har, you made me laugh at that one, ebb tide!
MAPA - Make the Papacy Great Again.
Drain the Swampy holy water in the Vatican.
LOL! Thanks. Too bad Hillary didn’t commit hara kiri.
While nothing is hilarious about war, the Battle of Midway is a good parallel to our Election '16. For the Japanese naval force near Midway believed they were a force not to be denied. But in the end, all four of Japan's large aircraft carriers — Akagi, Kaga, Soryu and Hiryu, part of the six-carrier force that had attacked Pearl Harbor six months earlier — and a heavy cruiser were sunk, while the U.S. lost only the carrier Yorktown and a destroyer. I don't wish to make fun of our Japanese opponents not make light of war. Men on both sides of the battle fought valiantly and deserve our honor. And normally we should not taunt our defeated opponents and spike the ball in the end zone. But in the case of Hillary Clinton, her corrupt and traitorous actions against America deserve all the righteous contempt we can muster. And yes, it's ok to laugh hilariously that her political career now rests in Davy Jones' Locker. |
I understand. You are correct.
Likewise, my Dad served at the Battles of Normandy and Okinawa as a gunner’s mate on an LST. He told us kids more than once, “If you weren’t scared, you weren’t there.”
And he quickly took a liking to my wife who I met in the Navy while stationed in southern Japan. And after spending 4 years in Japan and many more watching Japanese samurai shows on NHK and meeting many Japanese people on a one-to-one basis, I know something about the Japanese character and they are very honorable and good.
I agree about the attrocities committed by the Japanese. The terror inflicted by the leaders and officers is as bad as it was in Nazi. Germany. You’re right, we cannot forgive that.
From the standpoint of your average foot soldier, I think the Japanese were very similar to Americans. They didn’t want to be there and they fought valiantly for their cause.
Japan was like Germany in World War II. If you complained or didn’t strictly obey orders, you were shot. The kamikaze pilots were mostly young kids (the veteran pilots were all dead by that point) and were they forced to get in those airplanes and crash them to their deaths.
The Clint Eastwood directed movies on Iwo Jima, produced and acted by American and Japanese people, shows maybe the truest account of this terrible war.
