Gay Anglican Clergy to Defy Church's Official Stance on Same-Sex Marriage
The Guardian (UK) ^ | 8/21/16 | Nicola Slawson

Several gay ministers will write to church leaders to say they are already in same-sex marriage and want official position reconsidered

A group of gay Church of England clergy are set to reveal that they have married their partners, defying the official line taken by church leaders on same-sex marriage.

A dozen gay ministers are to sign an open letter that also urges the church to allow clergy to carry out blessings for parishioners entering into same-sex marriages.

Half the signatories have already declared themselves to be in a gay marriage, including Andrew Foreshew-Cain, who was one of the first priests to openly defy the ruling.

The letter is likely to reignite the heated debate on the issue, which has divided the church since same-sex marriages were legalised in England and Wales in March 2014.

Following the change in the law, church leaders, headed by the archbishops of Canterbury and York, Justin Welby and John Sentamu respectively, decided that clergy must not enter into a same-sex marriage and that those in a gay marriage would not be ordained.

While canon Jeremy Pemberton had his permission to officiate revoked after marrying his partner in April 2014, Foreshew-Cain was not removed from his post as vicar of two churches in north London after openly marrying his partner, Stephen Foreshew in June 2014.

Foreshew-Cain told the Guardian there were an increasing number of clergy and lay people in same-sex marriages. “Our marriages are legal, celebrated and widely accepted in society,” he said. “Yet the Church of England behaves as if they are somehow dirty and imposes penalties on clergy and refuses to acknowledge the marriages of those who wish to make lifelong faithful commitments.”

“This has to stop and the element of fear and hypocrisy around our marriages has to end,” he....

Agree. Instead, they prefer to tear down the church.

Our marriages are legal, celebrated and widely accepted in society,

Is this guy disingenuous or merely stupid?

He's basing his argument in favor of his marriage by claiming morality is defined by law and by public acceptance.

As a "priest", he should know that the books are teeming with immoral laws and that popularity is fleeting.

Widely accepted in society...true...but contrary to the Word of God which says we are to be in the world but not of the world. You agreed when you were ordained to follow those rules and you chose to break from that...now like a man or whatever the hell you are you should accept the consequences of breaking them...so be gone!

Their spiritual master wants bible believing Christians, you know: “Christians”, to honor his servants and their lifestyle rather than Christ.

If that seems harsh then so be it.

We live in an era where Romans 1:18-32 is coming true all around us.

It is accelerating.

People who don’t know much about God don’t face that danger (being turned over to a reprobate mind); but, those who do know about God and do not retain knowledge of Him are the ones that the chapter describes.

We are not told to disassociate ourselves from sinners in the world but if someone claims to be a “brother” in Christ and does such things in highhanded manner ... well, they should be given their walking papers before we part with Scripture in any way.

The Catholic Church hierarchy are about one step behind the Anglicans on the road to perdition. As someone who believes in the Creed of the Church, I can only conclude that that a schism is coming. The heretics will form a “progressive” organization I.e. The New Catholic Church, based entirely on peace, charity, wealth redistribution and environmentalism. It will recognize only one sin - morality. The true Church will emerge much smaller but much stronger as it faces immense persecution from the secular world.

In England (Great Britain?), Anglicanism is THE State Church and as such, I believe that all of the clergy are government paid employees. Thus, because of the Human Rights laws, both domestic and from the EU courts, these members of the clergy may get their way because, being the State Church, government and its secular laws, overrides religious doctrine and religious law!

Multiple Monarchs, whose entire reigns were spent in DANGEROUS religious disputes, are now spinning in their graves at respectable RPMs!

Gay clergy flip off God, tongue kiss Satan, and call evil good and good evil.

Will very shortly find themselves bound and standing at the edge of the pit, engulfed in infinite terror, as they face eternal damnation and agony.

Dirty? Really? And what the hell is LGBTI? Is “I” for “infected”? They keep this up and the whole bleedin’ alphabet is going to be in there.

They know if they start anything of their own they will never get the support in their new clubs, therefore they infest, infiltrate, and take over groups as the boy scouts, Churches etc.

they join these groups, keep silent on who they are, get to know people, have these people like them and then their truth comes out, only for those in that group to say “I know a homosexuals and he /she is nice, they don;t bother me”. Now these dopes who fall for this crap can;t get it into their heads that these people are poking turds, doing feces sex, and women acting as if they are men.
