If you would enter a mosque there would be signs about taking off shoes and allowable/NOT allowable photo taking.
It would certainly be off limits during one of their "services" (prayers).

You would never see it in the KSA as they have no visitors visas.

In my parish several congregants tend to wear large untucked Hawaiian or guayabera shirts and sit in strategic positions vis a vis the doors. The priest approves of their clothing style.

Of course he does! The Hawaiian shirts are MEANT to be huge, just like the Hawaiians. Hawaiian shirts come in GIGANTIC sizes.
Ditto with guayavera shirts...tropical shirts with many vents and openings. People dress for the weather.

BTW, what's a "strategic" position vis a vis the doors? In a breeze or something?

Not that Catholics should go to Saudi Arabia and start filming inside the mosques. If the Saudi filmers were up to mischief, I expect they may have taken offense to having their own faces on video.

Gotcha.

There is no reason to suspect that they were up to mischief JUST BECAUSE they were Saudis. Most Saudis are just normal folks who bring up their children to be just normal folks. My husband and I lived/worked there for five years so we got to know the culture pretty well.

The Saudis do NOT tolerate "bad boys" in any way, shape or form, as it's a pretty strict society, so the "bad boys" have to leave the KSA to make mischief elsewhere and er, sow their wild oats. They aren't all jerks but if our media spots a Saudi jerk, it WILL be international news.

My parish quietly removed the “No Firearms” stickers this year. I hope there are armed men at the doors there and in every church, because you KNOW what will happen.

Wouldn’t that be a great t-shirt idea? Kinda like the “John 3:16” shirts? maybe with the passage on the back and “self defense is no sin” underneath?
