Kundalini spirits in the church?
Christians Together ^ | Andrew Strom

I just saw the video of Rick Joyner announcing that Todd Bentley is back ministering every night at Morningstar in North Carolina and now they have so-called "revival" manifestations eerily similar to Lakeland. They also announced that they are streaming these big meetings every night on their new TV channel - and they are greatly promoting the whole thing.

Now I am a tongues-speaking Pentecostal myself - but can I ask a simple question here please? What kind of "spirit" was it operating in the Lakeland revival - when the leader and main focal- point of the meetings (Todd Bentley) was having an adulterous affair behind the scenes? Was it truly the "Holy" Spirit that was anointing something so sensual and unholy? And now that Todd divorced his wife and married his mistress - are we supposed to welcome him back and this "anointing" with him? What is going on here? Rick Joyner has been warned very specifically by high- level ministries not to do what he is doing now - bringing Todd Bentley back into the limelight. And yet it seems he does not care. Apparently the "manifestations" are all that matter.

That’s what name he was given in the first Latin translation from the Greek ...

Kundalini is all about sex, kids, that’s the point. Ever hear of Kundalini energy, Kundalini rising, Kundalini yoga, Tantra, etc? The serpent is symbolically coiled in sexual chakra (genitals).

I won’t elaborate further, information released on need to know basis only for protection of the innocent. :-)

True. Let’s also not rule out plain old mass hysteria.

What an interesting testimony.

Shortly after I was saved in 1981, I attended some WV churches that were weird, but one, The Church Of God Of Prophecy just flat out scared me.

I stayed through the rather loud preaching and watched as a line formed to be "anointed".

I wanted what Gid had to offer so I got in line ... when I got to the preacher, there were two or three men around and i smelt the distinct odor of amyl nitrate and felt gentle pushing backwards which I didn't want to do ... I was waiting for God .... the men said I should go over there and wait ... (just a few feet away)

While waiting, I saw a young girl on her back with her skirt or dress pulled exposing her panties and she was "doing" something or someone that wasn't there.

I looked around and it was bedlam.

I left and walked home on a nice warm autumn evening and I think it was there me and God REALLY talked.

I discovered an independent, fundamental Baptist church shortly thereafter ... and I've never left.

That was all in 1981

Nailed it! Kinda cool how a Scripture passage nearly two thousand years old could be SO accurate, isn’t it?

Yes, scripture is timeless. Ecclesiastes 1:9, "That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun."
I wonder what this stuff was called 4,000 years ago, other than witchcraft or necromancy?
I understand that kundalini means coiled one. Now, who does that remind you of? That old serpent, the devil maybe?

They are trying to have an “experience” - something tangible, a sign, something that they can “feel” rather than having faith.

AN evil and adulterous generations seeks for s sign.

Makes you wonder, for all their claims to having great faith, where their faith is that they walk by sight so much.

That’s very interesting because I’ve heard there’s supposed to be some kind of revival in the mountains of ...... WV ......going on at the present.

I guess I’m not surprised at it coming out of that area.

Morningstar Ministries is not far from there in NC.

My best encounters with God have ALWAYS been in private, when I’ve been alone with God in a non-church setting.

For which I am very grateful. Then I don’t have to worry about whether it could be chalked up to being manipulated or in response to an emotionally charged environment.

I call them *experience junkies*.

Always looking for the next encounter with God and thinking something is wrong if they don’t have one.

I know some people who are constantly reporting their litany of visions and dreams and *words* from God. They prophesy constantly, cast out demons here, there, and everywhere, are constantly delivering people of their demons. Always have a word from God for everyone else. See Him. Hear Him. Smell Him. To hear them talk, they are paragons of spirituality, connected with God on a plane above everyone else.

And yet when you look at how they live, being very difficult to live with, and listen to how they talk, with the foul language and coarse joking and what they watch on TV, you really have to wonder what it is they are connected to and how someone can be a believer for so long and have made so little spiritual progress.

Seems like that’s what ALL religions outside Christianity are about.

Sex oriented.

I guess it’s the best enticement the enemy has found to snag people with.

Watch Haggin when he is laughing. His tongue darts in and out of his mouth like a snake. If you trust in the Holy Spirit everything becomes clear.

Years ago I became a Christian during the time I was working at a yoga studio and had to quit not long after due to God showing me the spirit was not of Him.

I then found and read a book by (Mike?) Shreve who used to teach and have a big yoga following but became Christian and quit yoga. His book is about why yoga is wrong spiritually talks of Kundalini. I don’t remember if he talked of the positions being ungodly, so much as they expectation of (ungodly) spirit or earthly power coming into a person through certain positions and the chanting and such that some yoga studios add.

Mike Shreve (I think his name) - book - In Search of The True Light

I’ve tried to go back to yoga, because I really like Bikram hot yoga and detoxing by sweating but when I tried go back it’s not the same as before - it’s too much work and I don’t get the good feeling. I think it’s God telling stay clear of it. so I go to steam room at gym and do basic stretching in the steam for a few minutes.

I don’t think stretch movements similar to yoga movements are necessarily wrong, i think it’s more so the person’s thought and intent and are they doing some thing because God leads them to do it or following an idol/the world.

Is the spirit of YHWH? Does it draw one closer to or glorify Jesus? If it does not, then it comes from the devil. Remember one does not need to be an evil hate filled person to for Satan to win. Often all Satan needs is for one to doubt Jesus, or to believe in many paths to God. The Sikh people are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, yet they still believe in themselves to achieve eternal life/peace

There is very good teaching that comes out of the moderate charismatic movement. Calvary Chapel has given us Chuck Smith, David Guzik, Chuck Missler, Jacob Prasch, and others.
The moderate pentecostals see the danger from the *charismaniacs* and are first on the line to denounce it.
Prasch is one example of someone who has been doing this.
And he names names.
On the other hand the moderate non-pentecostals have their problems as well. Rick Warren’s teaching, PCUSA having an imam pray to Allah, promise-keepers, new Calvinism, etc.
In a recent message Prasch brought up this salient point.
In the Olivet Discourse Christ warned four times, not just once, about the deceivers of the last days. He then went further and said that the charis-mania of Pensacola is eastern mysticism and that hyper-pentecostals reject line by line study for the mantra of 7/11 music(7 words sung 11 times).
Prasch went after MacArthur after he felt John painted with too broad a brush. He also strongly disputes John’s take on the irrevocable? choice to take the mark of the beast. Actually, one can glean much from both faithful teachers of Scripture.

From the website:
We are specifically warned in the Bible that the Last Days will be a time of "seducing spirits," false prophets, 'lying signs and wonders,' and that we always need to watch for "angels of light" masquerading as the real thing. Why does the modern church not take these warnings seriously? Aren't we living in the very days that the Bible warns about?
I couldn't have said it better myself!

MormonISM says that angels have no wings.

It DOES; however; seem to put a lot of faith in stones: Peepstones and Urim and Thumin.
