I just saw the video of Rick Joyner announcing that Todd Bentley is back ministering every night at Morningstar in North Carolina and now they have so-called "revival" manifestations eerily similar to Lakeland. They also announced that they are streaming these big meetings every night on their new TV channel - and they are greatly promoting the whole thing.
Now I am a tongues-speaking Pentecostal myself - but can I ask a simple question here please? What kind of "spirit" was it operating in the Lakeland revival - when the leader and main focal- point of the meetings (Todd Bentley) was having an adulterous affair behind the scenes? Was it truly the "Holy" Spirit that was anointing something so sensual and unholy? And now that Todd divorced his wife and married his mistress - are we supposed to welcome him back and this "anointing" with him? What is going on here? Rick Joyner has been warned very specifically by high- level ministries not to do what he is doing now - bringing Todd Bentley back into the limelight. And yet it seems he does not care. Apparently the "manifestations" are all that matter.

I’ve seen outbreaks of what has been called *holy laughter* and have been hearing more and more about this and other unscriptural manifestations of what are supposed to be the Holy Spirit.

As am I. But like the author, I don't trust Todd Bentley. He is one of those described in the Bible as false prophets who come in the last hour deceiving the very elect.
Not being judgmental, but using discernment. His so-called ministry is all a show. It's a bizarre display of extreme behavior meant simply to shock or outrage people, all for the uplifting of self--not the glory of God.

I also saw a you tube video recently of someone who was showing what pressure points in a persons face can be used to drop them to the ground. Very frequently they are the places the preachers touch when people are *slain in the spirit*.

OMGOSH, I have to tell you my experience with Lakeland...
My friend and I rode our bikes from PA to there, we walked into the ‘tent’ sat down and the minute that Todd Bentley came out, I couldn’t stay there, it was like ‘get out of here NOW’ I had to leave...my friend came out and asked if I was ok...that Todd Bentley is the devil for sure...we went and grabbed something to eat, cancelled our room and rode back to PA.
Never again will I do that, it’s like walking into the Den of Hot fire and hell...I hope people don’t take this guy only for the phony he is...
Seems to be missing from some people’s Bible.
I’ve actually heard recently that people who try to stick to Scripture are now being accused of legalism and being *pharisees* for doing that very thing, testing the spirits by the Word.
Seems that experience and feelings trump all.
All I needed to do was watch a few moments of Kenneth Hagin videos of his “laughing in the spirit” and very disturbing “tongues speaking” to completely dismiss this type of nonsense.
I’ve head people claim the like of Bentley, (and Osteen etc) must be real Christians because after all, they encourage people to accept Christ and Satan would not do that, now would he?
Being a Bible believing, boring Lutheran, seems to be a safe place to be. No crazy spirit talk to worry about, just the Word.

I was in a church recently that had an outbreak of *holy laughter*.
It lasted for about 5 minutes and honestly, it sounded like the monkey house at the zoo.
I felt something try to come on me and I cried out to Jesus and it left.
I have been filled with the Spirit and it was NOTHING like that. The waves of love, peace, joy, and wholeness were nothing like what that church service felt like.
Satan can mimic the manifestations of the gifts, but CANNOT mimic the fruit of the Spirit in one’s life. He cannot produce love, joy, peace, etc.
I met someone once who used to go to Benny Hinn’s church at the time he fell into his nonsense and this person told me that you could feel the church go from a warm loving Spirit filled fellowship to ice cold demonic.
My heart breaks for my friends who I see being sucked into this thing. I have been praying for God to deliver them from the deception.
When a church is Spirit focused experience oriented, it’s a sure sign something is very wrong.
The job of the Holy spirit is to lift up JESUS, not Himself.
