Pope Francis, spiritual leader of a billion people, has just informed them that ‘the great majority’ of sacramental marriages are invalid because couples don’t go into them with the right intentions. He was speaking at a press conference in Rome. Here’s the context, from the Catholic News Agency (my emphases):
‘I heard a bishop say some months ago that he met a boy that had finished his university studies, and said “I want to become a priest, but only for 10 years”. It’s the culture of the provisional. And this happens everywhere, also in priestly life, in religious life,’ he said.
‘It’s provisional, and because of this the great majority of our sacramental marriages are null. Because they say “yes, for the rest of my life!” but they don’t know what they are saying. Because they have a different culture. They say it, they have good will, but they don’t know.’
Uh? You can read the full report here but you won’t be much the wiser. The Pope, thinking aloud in the manner of some maverick parish priest after a couple of glasses of wine at dinner, has just told millions of his flock that they are not really married.
Did he mean to say that? What does he really think? What authority do his words carry?
And why should Catholics even have to ask these questions? Francis’s off-the-cuff ramblings on matters of extreme pastoral sensitivity are wreaking havoc in the Catholic Church, as I’ve written here.

Move along; Joseph and Mary. This does not apply to you.
Just exactly how does a consecrated woman function?

Slipping in a conclusion as a premise isn't normally allowed in logic. You've demonstrated nothing -- except perhaps that you deny that Christ had any human ancestors, that He is not of the seed of Abraham, the seed of Isaac, the seed of Jacob, and certainly not of the royal line of David, and not even Jewish, since Jewishness comes through the mother. Your "argument" seems to imply that He's not even human -- more a fabricated simulacrum cunningly devised to appear humanm.
Strange that you do not apply this same ‘rigor of thought’ to Mrs Don-o as she makes up an entire fable to support the specious notion that GOD must use a sex cell from Mary to create the body for Jesus. Your blind catholic bias is showing, big time.
Why do you catholic defenders of the fables on Mary insist on pushing against a srawman like 'Your "argument" seems to imply that He's not even human' ... apparently the catholiciism way or the highway, not even giving GOD enough credit to do what He chooses without first having Vatican approval! The poster claims that Christ got no genetic material from Mary. Therefore, no human genetic material.
So you declare GOD incapable of producing a body for The Son without using Mary’s sex cell. Typical arrogance of catholiciism ... typical catholic blindness.
And that is but one passage where scripture has been altered by your religion, to fit the deception over the Mary of catholiciism. Keep trying, catholics, maybe you can make the goddess-hood of Mary real in your religion, without having to deny it at every turn as you bow to statues of Mary and send biullions of prayers to her for answering and rely on her to keep your souls out of the mythical purgatory your religion has fabricated out of whole cloth.
That passage from Genesis was out of the catholic Bible, the Douay-Rheims is this sort of deception by changing the meaning of Bible passages why some catholics raise tradition over the authority of God’s Word?
