Christian Rocker’ Left Wife, Children After Embracing Homosexuality

During an appearance on ABC’s “The View” on Friday, Everyday Sunday’s Trey Pearson, who released a letter last week to fans in which he came out as a homosexual, outlined that he has left his wife after deciding to no longer fight against having feelings for men. As previously reported, Pearson, known for the hit songs “Find Me Tonight,” “Wake Up! Wake Up!” and “Best Night of Our Lives,” wrote in his public letter that he has come to believe that he has been wrong for subduing his emotions. “I have been suppressing these attractions and feelings since adolescence,” he said. “Trying not to be gay has only led to a desire for intimacy in friendships which pushed friends away, and it has resulted in a marriage where I couldn’t love or satisfy my wife in a way that she needed.”

Pearson said that he doesn’t believe that change is possible.

“I am never going to be able to change how I am, and no matter how healthy our relationship becomes, it’s never going to change what I know deep down: that I am gay,” he stated. On “The View” on Friday, Pearson suggested that he divorced his wife and moved out, as he referred to his wife of seven years as his “ex-wife,” and said that he meets with her and his two children once a week. He was asked by guest co-host LaLa Anthony if he was dating, and replied that he wanted to wait a year before entering into a relationship with a man. “I am not dating. I decided when I was going through all of this to take at least a year just to get to know myself as a gay person—to know this knew part of me, before I start getting to know who somebody else is in that sort of way,” he replied.

“My ex-wife and my two beautiful kids, we share every week, we hang out every week, we have dinner together as a family every week,” Pearson continued. “And that’s where my focus is. My focus is on being who I need to be for them, being healthy for them, and being healthy for myself. That way I can be healthy for other people.” He had written in his letter last week that he was trying to sort through how to only be friends with his wife and yet co-parent their children. When asked by Joy Bahar if he still considers himself a Christian, Pearson replied, “I feel like I’m more in love with Jesus and the Scriptures than ever as I’ve progressed in my faith and as I’ve experience this grace, this restoration, this being able to embrace truth without being scared of what people that live in fear feel like.” He said he wants the Church to accept homosexuality. “I want to see my church change. I want to see our denomination change,” Pearson said. “I want to see people to be willing to have the conversation in an open way where they are willing to listen to people’s stories.”

The musician, who is scheduled to perform at a homosexual pride event next week, said that he finds it “damaging” when ministers call homosexuality a choice. “There are still people that are teaching these hurtful things and they are the ones that get scared when millions of people connect with it,” he stated. “And they want to say that you’re the false teacher, but they never start to think that it’s their false teaching that causes things like this to happen in the first place.” Not all Christians believe that same-sex attraction is a choice, but rather a part of the Adamic sin nature that must be regenerated by the second birth, as Jesus outlined in John 3:5-7, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

2 Corinthians 5:14-17 also reads, “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead. And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again. … Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

“I want to see my church change. I want to see our denomination change,”

Well, that is because your beliefs are Satanic.

I never heard of this guy, and I follow contemporary Christian rock.

I looked up one of his videos, and it just about melted down my gaydar.

This guy committed adultery, abandoned his wife and kids, committed fornication and is living in sin.

Oh, by the way, he's a homosexual, so we're supposed to hold him up as a great Christian example?

Self-absorbed jerk.

“I have been suppressing these attractions and feelings since adolescence,”

I'm gonna guess he is/was bisexual. How else could he have gotten excited enough to perform his manly acts to produce kids?

How very sad for his wife and kids.

The devil is not dead. He will work on everybody. Looks like he won a round here. We cannot let the devil win the war.

I imagine that the ladies on The View were absolutely thrilled to pieces to spend time with someone who had given in to these Satanic urges.

he’s not the first pony on this merry- go - round nor really is this news- it happens all the time to the best of families only this queer was given publicity- not the wife & kids.

So do you see now how skewed the news is even from the source cited?

Yup, as CS Lewis put it, we Christians have infiltrated behind enemy lines. We’re already here, and Satan the enemy knows it, but not many of his dupes know it yet.

Sorry, dude, you picked the wrong lifestyle to be healthy...you’ll have HIV/AIDS soon, most likely. And you’re already mentally unhealthy.

This is almost certainly a direct result of him dealing with this sin in his own strength.

He has obviously not released it to the Father and not repented of the sin.

If he was EVER saved then he is being turned over to his sin is so that he may be “sifted like wheat” and brought to a point of genuine repentance ... and may that come soon.

But as he is defining his very existance by this sin, he may also be being turned over to a reprobate mind and that he was never saved, never repentant, and has been previously aping the fruit of the spirit with works of the flesh ... so the door is being closed.

God knows which.

God is not mocked.

Paul testifies that homosexuals CANNOT enter the Kingdom ... and immediately follows that by saying “and such were some of you”.

If your underlying definition of yourself is in accordance to your relationship with Christ there will come repentance.

Paul flatly indicates that change IS possible ... if it is Christ working in us.

But there is no hope for those who persist to the end in a: “such you still are” category.

You cannot define yourself by a sin and also by Christ. That’s having two masters and it just doesn’t work that way.

While this body of death remains sin plagues the saints demanding we obey it BUT we have only one master if indeed we are in Him. We can tell it “no”.

Telling The Lord “I got this” and struggling against sin in your own strength when it comes to ANY sin is a bad idea.

Repent early if possible, pray for power from above: we can do all things through Christ ... even repent of a sin like homosexuality.

... and all kinds of stuff like that there....

It’s ugly.

But think of it this way: if you look at eternity, our existence on this rock is the worst it will ever be for us.

For these sinners, this time in eternity is the best it will ever be.

So true.

Ever notice how sinner’s sentences demanding God change, usually begin with “I”?

It’s always about them and their wants and desires. How dare God tell them otherwise!

At this point, wouldn’t it be better to have two separate places to live....one place for those who wish to honor God, and another for those who wish to honor themselves!
