Pope Francis says he has no intention of quitting the papacy a possibility opened up by his predecessor Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI.
The pope, responding to a question from a young person at a Vatican event, said on Sunday I never thought of quitting being pope, or of leaving because of the many responsibilities.

Benedict was forced out.
Of course not. There is so much more evil for him to spread.
Popes don’t resign.
This imposter was installed.
I would like to know how they got Benedict to resign.
Just like his hero, Fidel promised he’d resign after two years.
That is my feeling too. But by who, and why? Was someone threatening his life? Was he being blackmailed? I can think of no other reasons.
Rumor had it that he had some involvement in covering up for pedophile priests.
Evilness never retires.
He may change his mind once again Mr. Trump gets elected.
His reign will be over when the barbarians storm the gates of Rome...which can not be too far off the way things are going...
He wants to do as much damage as he can while he can. Just like 0bammy.
There were a number of rumors. The usual thing when a liberal press is trying to destroy a conservative leader.
There was something about a crooked butler. So what? Not his fault. And the Vatican Bank. Also not his fault.
He had nothing to do with protecting the pedophile priests. That took place far earlier, and was sponsored by the liberals who pushed Benedict out.
My theory is, yes, that he was blackmailed. But that he probably quit because he didn’t want all the rumors and slime to damage the Church. He didn’t commit any personal crimes.
The problem, of course, is that the liberal press only stopped sliming the Church when they got a lousy liberal into office.
When Cardinal Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger became Pope Benedict, two things were were always written about him:
1. He had a towering intellect.
2. He had a backbone of tempered steel.
We've had a Polish pope, a German pope and now an Argentinian pope. That series of non-Italian popes broke with a "tradition" of many centuries.
Benedict left because of his health. He had no reason on earth to lie, nor would he be afraid of the truth.
Well, if one really dislikes the papacy and Catholicism, then one would quite possibly only believe the very worst of him and all the popes of the Catholic Church since Peter, the first vicar of Christ.
As one enters the Basilica of St. Peter at the Vatican there is a LIST of all the popes. It IS engraved in granite. I wonder if that's where that phrase came from.

The first name on the list is Peter.
FReegards.
Well, maybe this new, non-Catholic “extended Petrine ministry” only allows for two “popes” at a time. If Francis resigns, that would make three “popes” and we all know three’s a crowd!

Hmmm — was he part of the opposition to Benedict XVI?
Exactly.
If he was at death's door, I can see voluntarily "retiring".
But he's still alive.
Benedict wasn’t forced out.
The latest info about this so-called “extended Petrine ministry” sounds like he was very much a willing participant of this decision.

I suspect Obama's penchant for tapping important people's phones may have something to do with it. We know he did it to Merkel.... and now she's acting like she works for Obama.
