Cardinal Kurt Koch, who leads ecumenical relations for the Vatican, made the comments at an interfaith meeting in Cambridge

Christians have a mission to convert all Muslims, according to one of Pope Francis’s senior aides.

Cardinal Kurt Koch, who leads ecumenical relations for the Vatican, made the comments at an interfaith meeting held by Cambridge University’s Woolf Institute.

Cardinal Koch also said that Christians should not try and convert Jews and should view Judaism as a “mother”.

“We have a mission to convert all non-Christian religions’ people [except] Judaism,” he said, before reportedly adding that this extended to jihadis responsible for persecuting Christians in the Middle East.

The cardinal also urged Christians to view Judaism as a “mother” and said Christainity and Judaism shared a special relationship.

Here's the prayer the Catholic Church prayed last Good Friday for the Jews:

VI. For the Jewish people

Let us pray also for the Jewish people,
to whom the Lord our God spoke first,
that he may grant them to advance in love of his name
and in faithfulness to his covenant.

Prayer in silence. Then the Priest says:

Almighty ever-living God,
who bestowed your promises on Abraham and his descendants,
hear graciously the prayers of your Church,
that the people you first made your own
may attain the fullness of redemption
Through Christ our Lord.

Please underline any of the above that is false. Or add your hearty Amen.

You're against praying for people to advance in love of God's name and in faithfulness to his covenant???

Seriously?

You can’t believe in Mary without believing in her son.

Believing in Mary means what ?

Having faith in Mary ?

Mother of Jesus - check
Sainthood - check
Mary is Co-Redemptrix - Non Biblical
Immaculate Conception - Non Biblical
Perpetual virginity of Mary - Non Biblical
Queen of Heaven - Non Biblical

Not when the curtain in their temple was torn in two, from top to bottom, the day Christ died.

The traditional Good Friday prayer is a call for the conversion of the Jews. The new prayer suggest they can “advance” in faithfulness while remaining Jews.

All three persons of the Godhead are involved in salvation, but until the call by the Father, it isn’t a done deal.

The beauty of His Plan is that since we are condemned before salvation, entering into fellowship by His grace removes the opportunity for arrogance to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Note the roles of the different persons in the Godhead in how He manifests Himself to us.

Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus is the main object of our faith, in what He bore on the Cross and the Judgment made of all sin.

He remained faithful to God the Father, who then judged all sin at the Cross.

His Word is made flesh in the Son and by studying His Word, we come to understand the Gospel before salvation, by the work of God the Holy Spirit in Common Grace.

When God the Father makes the call, which He knows the right time and place to perform, God the Holy Spirit makes that call understandable while we lack spiritual faculties, by His Efficacious Grace.

Those who respond to the call of God the Father with positive volition, respond through faith in what Christ performed on the Cross and by confession of all sins through that faith.

God the Father is then free to forgive us of our sins, which have already been judged on Christ at the Cross. In His grace, He is then free to return to us a human spirit which God the Holy Spirit unites with our soul, which becomes a temple where God the Holy Spirit then indwells to further sanctify our thinking, slowly changing our soul and heart.

While the Son and the Holy Spirit might witness to us on numerous occasions prior to the call by the Father, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit only happens after chosen by God the Father with our positive receipt and acknowledgement and faith in Christ.

This also nicely explains why God the Son based His Church upon those chosen by God the Father. It isn’t His unique decision, rather it is a decision based upon what the Father has chosen, provided, called, and verified. It will prevail.

Appealing to the Bible is off limits for you. You don’t believe in mediators, remember?

Well, you added your own words, "while remaining Jews", and then criticized the prayer on the basis of the added words. That hardly seems fair, does it?

"What does the prayer really say?" It prays to God that the Jewish people advance in love of God's name and in faithfulness to his covenant, and attain the fullness of redemption,, through Christ our Lord.

It's always best to stick to the words that are actually there.

What part of “the new and eternal testament” said at the Words of the Consecration makes you believe the Jews don’t need to believe in this eternal testament, i.e. they have a free pass in regards said testament?

What "makes you believe the Jews don’t need to believe in this eternal testament, i.e. they have a free pass in regards said testament?"

I don't believe that and I never said that.

Your question makes no sense.

It’s you double negative that makes no sense.

BTW, do you agree with this statement: “In concrete terms this means that the Catholic Church neither conducts nor supports any specific institutional mission work directed towards Jews.”The Gifts and Calling of God are Irrevocable.

Did not Christ and his apostles call on both the Jews and Gentiles to their conversion to the One, True Faith?

"I don't believe that and I never said that" is straightforward enough. What part of that don't you understand?

The conversation turns absurd when you make up statements, attribute them to me, and then condemn your words as if they were mine.

Stop doing that. Then we'll talk.

“Pope Francis in Evangelii Gaudium n. 247: “We hold the Jewish people in special regard because their covenant with God has never been revoked”. This text is an explicit profession of heresy, directly opposed to the solemn dogmatic definition of Pope Eugenius III and the Ecumenical Council of Florence, and the doctrine taught by the supreme magisterium of Pope Benedict XIV in Ex Quo Primum, set forth repeatedly and explicitly citing the definition of Florence, to wit, that the Mosaic covenant has been “revoked” and “abrogated”, Fr. Paul Kramer.

What part of that do you not understand?

"The Jews need conversion."

Only in the minds of those who worship false gods.

Jews are quite happy worshiping the ONE True God, the same God they worshipped LONG before other religions were invented.

Trying to acquire Jews' souls, either through niceness or torture, and even after death (diabolical Mormon practice) means you will have to account for that - to the God of Israel.

Worship YOUR god; let others worship THEIR God - without interference.

Please note that at this point, Evangelium Gaudium is alluding directly to Scripture:

Romans 11:28-29
"In respect to the gospel, they [the Jews] are enemies on your account; but in respect to election, they are beloved because of the patriarchs. For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable."

Because of this reference to the "patriarchs" I would say Evangelium Gaudium is referring to the Abrahamic covenant, not necessarily the Mosaic.

Always important to look at the actual words.

It [The Catholic Church] firmly believes, professes and teaches that the legal prescriptions of the old Testament or the Mosaic law, which are divided into ceremonies, holy sacrifices and sacraments, because they were instituted to signify something in the future, although they were adequate for the divine cult of that age, once our lord Jesus Christ who was signified by them had come, came to an end and the sacraments of the new Testament had their beginning. Whoever, after the passion, places his hope in the legal prescriptions and submits himself to them as necessary for salvation and as if faith in Christ without them could not save, sins mortally.
