"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Php. 2:12). God's grace is His giving one both the desire and the power to do His Will, which is to take care of ourselves and not be a burden to others, as infants are until they are taught to be self-sufficient in a moral and ethical way, according to Scripture. See the ant:
"Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man" (Pro 6:6-11)
God does help those who use what He has given them to help themselves. Quit being silly.
It is Marxism that says "From each according to his ability, to each, according to his need," that degrading panacea of misplaced compassion.
“God does help those who use what He has given them to help themselves. Quit being silly.”
And when did I deny that? What I deny is your suggestion that God won’t help those who don’t help themselves.
