And I think I know what you mean, but modern hardened Israel won’t take it that way, sadly. They’ll see it as gleeful, vengeful Christians wishing hellfire and doom on them because they won’t worship the Christian mascot, or something mongo distorted like that. The blasphemy will be astounding. Being patient with this requires a divine level of heart, not just a human level.
But Israel has lost perspective. The Law was presented to it as a test, not as a method of salvation. It even had an opportunity to confess that it could not pass the test (Moses warned them) and had it thus confessed, we might be looking at quite a different human history. But that is a hypothetical only, because the Lord sees how and what people will accept and act upon, and planned for the drama that we see today.
Scripture says they’ll come around. It will be the biggest spiritual spanking ever, but they’ll finally see the light of day.
