Transgender baptisms are to be offered for the first time in the UK by a church in Greater Manchester.
The New Chapel Unitarian and Free Christian in Denton, Tameside, agreed the move at its annual general meeting.
Jean Clements, the church's worship leader, proposed the change after meeting a couple who had a transgender child.
The church was moved to make a change in order to help those in the same situation.

Next thing they will be offering baptism as a post operative procedure right out of the gender reassignment operating room. Maybe in the future there will be female brain tissue transplants so these tyrannies can think like a woman too. I would do the procedure cheap with a blender and ice with, of course, holy water.
Most Christian churches have gone over to the dark side.
Transgender baptisms?
How’s that go, I wonder...
“I now baptize you in the name of the Father (Or Mother if you prefer)...
And the son/daughter/glbtqt/he/she/it....
I’m still not certain exactly WHO is hypothetically transgender here? Was the infant born with both sets, making it a hermaphrodite, or is this about older children and adults who have decided their first baptism under the birth sex doesn’t count, so they want to be re-baptized under their ‘chosen’ gender. Is that what they speak of here? Oy!
Let's Mock God!
That'll be keen fun.
Went back to my traditional tagline a few days ago. (From a Bob Dylan song.)
Everyday it gets weirder and weirder.
Well, you see, yours is not an appropriate question.
Because Unitarianism is:
“Unitarians are now an open faith community celebrating diverse beliefs; some of its members would describe themselves as Buddhist, Pagan, or Jewish, while many others are humanist, agnostic, or atheist. Unitarianism differs from many other religions in that it helps people find their own spiritual path rather than defining it for them.”
So while they call it a religion, it is not.
Might be helpful to think of Unitarians as a bowling league but without the shoes, goofy shirts, pins, balls, and rules, and scoring. Or the French existentialists without Gaulois and sidewalk cafes...it’s all relative so it really doesn’t matter.
Best we can say here is Unitarianism is not Christian.
Sounds like another case of constantly evolving truth and ever-flexible definitions. Well, at least they don’t include Wicca or Santeria as ‘worthy vessels’ of The Word.
It will be performed in a cauldron of sulfur.
Well, Unitarian would be the most logical denomination for the pervs.
I wouldn’t be so sure that exclude them.
How would the church know it was a transgender child unless the parents bragged about it?
“Well, Unitarian would be the most logical denomination for the pervs.”
I don’t know about that. The Episcopalians and ELCA are definitely competing for the freak faithful.
I baptize you in the name of the Parent, the Offspring, ....
