No one may ever accuse actress Kerry Washington of being merely a leftist poser in terms of abortion rights, certainly not after last night's episode of ABC's Scandal, which featured her alter-ego Olivia Pope – the show's main character – having an abortion while the beloved Christmas tune "Silent Night" played in the background.
You read that correctly. Kerry Washington and the producers of Scandal actually had the nerve to show the main character abort her and the President's baby to the tune of the most iconic song ever produced about the birth of Jesus Christ.
There really is no other way to put this story than to let out a sigh of wounded disbelief. It was bad enough that Kerry Washington wore a gold crucifix during a pro-abortion PSA back in 2012, but this makes that gesture look like Mother Theresa advertising a new hospital.
After having aborted her child, the episode concludes with Washington sipping a glass of wine while she fondly looks upon her Christmas tree just as "Ave Maria" fades over the soundtrack.
Naturally, feminists adored the episode, including Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, who tweeted in the show's favor after it aired:

Kerry Washington did this? Her character maybe had a fake one? Very confusing title. That would be pretty against the law if they performed an abortion on Kerry Washington on TV I would think.
So Ma Richard’s daughter thinks killing a baby on Christmas Eve is “Compassionate health care”? Too bad Ma didn’t think the same thing about her own child.

It’s not enough to kill, they must also blaspheme.
I watched this episode. I didn’t realize it was Silent Night. I didn’t realize she was having an abortion. She was lying on the table with nothing else. Heck there was no dialogue. She might not of even had an abortion. We don’t know. She could have changed her mind. Plus was she ever pregnant in the show? Probably all a hoax.
I don’t watch the show. But it’s about the attack on Christianity that they would play ‘Silent Night’ during an abortion.
Moral corruption has so thoroughly engulfed our culture that the great a terrible evil of Islam is viewed as simply a diverse culture worthy of acceptance.
