BRINGING EX-CATHOLICS BACK TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH A PERSONAL STORY
CATHOLIC CLASSICS UNLIMITED BRINGING EX-CATHOLICS BACK TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ^

Posted on 10/20/2015 12:34:51 AM PDT by OrthodoxIndianCatholic

Introduction :

It is my objective and endeavour to bring Ex-Catholics back to the Catholic Church in 2015 as well as in 2016. I intend to achieve this through "Catholic Classics".

What I mean is this -- I want Catholics who have left the Catholic Church to read awesome and amazing "Catholic Books" posted on my Catholic Blog.

Many Catholics in India specially in "Metro Cities" have left the Catholic Church and have joined "Non - Denominational Churches".

Most of them are unaware of "Catholic Classics" which encompass and explain the beautiful Catholic Faith.

In Cities like Mumbai in Maharashtra, Panjim and Margao in Goa, Bangalore in Karnataka, and Chennai in Tamil Nadu Catholics have left the Church for a variety of reasons; mostly for monetary reasons but some have also left because of animosity with Priests, or Nuns, or Bishops.

Let me tell you my personal story with regard to "Catholic Classics" and how they changed my life forever.

In Mid- 2012, 3 years back, I was quite angry with Catholic Priests because of negative experiences I had with them while growing up in Mumbai.

In the latter half of 2012, while surfing the "Net" for Catholic Websites I came across a beautiful, outstanding, and extra-ordinary Catholic Website called "E-Catholic 2000"-- "Catholics for the Third Millenium".

Once, I entered this amazing website I happened to stumble across four Catholic Classics--

1) Calvary and the Mass.

2) True Devotion to Mary.

3) Secret of the Rosary.

4) Secret of Mary.

After reading these 4 Catholic Classics over a number of months - I lost all animosity I may have had against Catholic Priests in Mumbai or anywhere else.

I promise you that when you read these 4 books, you will be changed forever and will fall in love with the Catholic - Christian Faith instantly as I did.

These are 4 Books, that positively changes lives and souls.

Read them and you will never be sorry that you visited my "Catholic Blog" accidentally or purposely.

These "Catholic Classics" proudly promote Jesus Christ as the "Centre of our Faith".

The Catholic Church is more than 2000 years old. Let us never forget that.

These Catholic Classics present to us the vibrant Catholic Faith as it has been through the centuries.

Conclusion :

No one will ever regret reading "Catholic Books" @ my blog. These Catholic Books help to build one up in the faith and help to strengthen one about the truths of the Catholic Faith.

I strongly recommend 4 Catholic Classics to Catholics who have left the Church and who might visit my Catholic Blog in the future.

1) Calvary and the Mass

2) True Devotion to Mary

3) Secret of the Rosary

4) Secret of Mary

Happy and Holy Reading.

Dear Friends in Jesus and Mary,

Greetings.

It is a fact that Catholics are leaving the Catholic Church in many countries in the world specially in India, South America, and Central America.

There has been an exodus from the Catholic Church to Non-Denominational Churches in some parts of India but specially in Brazil, Argentina, and Guatemala to mention a few.

I was on the verge of leaving the Catholic Church a few years ago till I accidentally stumbled on e-catholic 2000.

What I am trying to say is this, that I wouldn't be a Catholic Today if it was not for e-catholic 2000-- Catholics for the Third Millenium.

They deserve all the credit for keeping me in the Catholic Church.

“There has been an exodus from the Catholic Church to Non-Denominational Churches in some parts of India but specially in Brazil, Argentina, and Guatemala”

And if these dear souls come to know Christ and are saved when they learn the Gospel of Grace, there is overwhelming rejoicing in heaven!

Let us rejoice with heaven when the lost are found.

People are better off reading the Bible than books on Catholicism.

The books he listed will teach you about Jesus and Mary, Mary, and Mary. Jesus to Mary in a 1:3 ratio?

What’s wrong with this picture?

It’s clear Catholicism is more about Mary than Jesus.

For anyone who wants a religion centered around a goddess type female figure, I guess Catholicism can’t be beat.

But for ex-Catholic who found Jesus, no amount of Mary indoctrination will convince them to return.

Whenever God has used me to bring a new/backslider to Him I NEVER portray my denomination as the one true church. I encourage the Saint to find a church that clearly and often teaches salvation through faith in Jesus alone.

Nice list, thanks. I would suggest adding Interior Castle by St. Teresa of Jesus.

Best way to keep Catholics? Don’t have priests like this:

I was 18 years old and homeless, living in my car. It was the Chicago area in January. Overnight temps were single digits. It was cold...terribly, terribly cold.

Not knowing what else to do, at about 10pm I knocked on the rectory door of the church I had attended. The door opened, the priest who had led many of the masses I had attended standing before me. I said, “Father, I’ve got nowhere to go, can you please help me?” And his words are burned forever in my mind: “I’m sorry, no.” And he closed the door in my face.

Was the LAST time I set foot near a Catholic church.

They leave the Church because they are sadly unaware of what she(Church) teaches. They think it is all about Mary in a 1:3 ration, when it is all about Jesus in ratio of 100%.

You sadly don’t know that the Church that brought you the Bible and even the FIRST English translation, is the Church that brought you Jesus, the one true holy, catholic, apostolic church.

Mary is the flashlight to open your eyes that Jesus is right in front of you, that you are blind to Jesus’ love and mercy.

Every have your mother open your eyes to how much your father does for you? You can call your father the name “father” right? Because that’s what he is supposed to be representing to you in the family, the domestic church. He’s a sinner, so he will fall short. But your mother will help you see through your blindness all the same, open your eyes. Often times, like the call of the Holy Spirit - the Light of Christ is ignored, in all of its majesty, by the too smart.

That’s horrible, but why judge the 2000 year old Church that Christ founded by the actions of one priest? We’re all sinners —even priests.

“Was the LAST time I set foot near a Catholic church.”

So you met one less-than-perfect priest and you judged the whole Church by him? So you judge yourself just as harshly when you fail to be perfect, right? Yeah, gee, I’m sure you do and have nothing to do with yourself as a result, right?

Thanks, but 95% of your post isn’t found in Scripture. As such, Christians must reject it.

I’m struggling with how best to answer your question...suffice it to say that it caused me to lose ALL my faith in the servants of that church...it quite seriously shook me to my core. It so flew in the face of everything I had been taught about Catholic priests. That one act caused a deep fissure in the entire foundation of everything I knew about Catholicism. Everything I had ever learned about Catholicism was built on a foundation of sand.

For many years, it resulted in my questioning of faith in general. I’m grateful that I have at least regained my Faith in Christ, but Catholicism? It’s dead to me.

I’m happy for those of you who find what you need in the church...truly...and may God bless you.

Thank you for your post and it's great to see your zeal for the faith.

Although many Catholics are leaving the Church that Christ founded to follow Luther's unbiblical tradition of "the Bible alone," the Church continues to grow fairly rapidly worldwide.

In the US, Catholics are generally led away from the Church because of poor catechesis. They don't know how to answer questions posed by Protestants. Many eventually return to the Church.

We are blessed to have Catholic Answers (Catholic.com) today, which fills this great need. It's the easiest way to evangelize and catechize.

That’s understandable, and I’m glad that you have faith in Christ. Keep searching for truth and you won’t go wrong.

STA, I’ve never worshipped at a Christian Church that followed “the Bible alone.” Christ also provided the gifts to the church of pastors, teachers and elders, and importantly, the Holy Spirit Who guides believers into “all truth.”

Best

BRINGING EX-CATHOLICS BACK TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

I'd like to hear the story of how to KEEP the Catholics it now has!

...Pew still calculates that six Catholics leave the church for every one person who chooses to join.
