“I’M THE FRICKEN POPE, SO SHUT THE HELL UP, ” he explained.
What's Up With the Synod ^ | October 17, 2015 | Hilary White

Posted on 10/18/2015 10:17:38 AM PDT by ebb tide

Pope Francis marks 50th anniversary of Synod’s institution

“Finally,” explained Pope Francis, “the synodal process culminates in listening to the Bishop of Rome, called upon to speak authoritatively [It. pronunciare] as ‘Shepherd and Teacher of all Christians’: not on the basis of his personal beliefs, but as the supreme witness of the Faith of the whole Church, the guarantor of the Church’s conformity with and obedience to the will of God, to the Gospel of Christ and the Tradition of the Church.”

And in totally, we swear, completely unrelated news…

Traits of narcissistic personality disorder: The most telling thing that narcissists do is contradict themselves. They will do this virtually in the same sentence, without even stopping to take a breath. It can be trivial (e.g., about what they want for lunch) or it can be serious (e.g., about whether or not they love you). When you ask them which one they mean, they’ll deny ever saying the first one, though it may literally have been only seconds since they said it — really, how could you think they’d ever have said that? You need to have your head examined!

UPDATE: an explanatory comment from my Guy Inside

“He’s fudging… he’s strongly implying infallibility, but not saying that he will pronounce infallibly.

“He wants everyone to come away with ‘Whoa… this is infallible. We hear and obey!’ but leaving plausible deniability to say, ‘No, no, I never claimed this particular bit was infallible….'”

I’m gonna take a wild stab at the answer: Ephesians 2:8 and the entire chapter of Romans 11. Not so weird at all, the way Paul-inspired-of-GOD writes it!

But of course that’s “only Scripture” and y’all don’t believe in GOD’s Word.

See the problem is no Catholic teaching contradicts the Bible. That is may contradict Protestant error in interpreting the Bible is a whole other story.

It seems you are overlooking the fact that your original post said that “maturing” was “Protestant nonsense”.

The Church will always grow...if not in numbers, it will grow in holiness.
Those who don’t believe that can’t be considered truly Catholic.

Our Lord never promised us “numbers”. He only commissioned us to “observe all that He commanded us (on the day of His Ascension). And one of those commandments was to love God and our neighbor as ourselves. That kind of Love is always noticeable and manifest in our thoughts, words and deeds.

Why not live a free and unrestricted lifestyle then??????sounds like a fun time to me!!!!!!Hoo-Rah !!!

Does it really??? If it does to you, you then don't love Jesus...For those of us who do love Jesus of course we still sin just as you do...But we feel shame and remorse as well...And we try to do better to please Jesus...

You don’t have the authority to alter that. It is not for you to decide.

This is one of the reasons that the neo-Cats are going to hold on to Francis no matter what he does. The sainthood of JPII is too important to them and if a schism does come from the synod the validity of the JohnXXIII/JPII canonizations will come into question.

How can the Church grow in something it already possesses in its fullness?

Those are the words of Christ. Your misinterpretation of them is not.

24“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. John 5:24 NASB

That may be what your religion told you but there's nothing there to interpret...It's all easy, plain speech...You either believe what it says or you don't...

What's the Catholic 'interpretation' of that verse???

That is a maturing of the spreading of the Gospel, which we were commissioned to do.

Condoning adultery and homosexual "unions" by a synod, stacked and steered by Francis, is "maturing of the spreading of the Gospel"?

Nope. It was working fine for the first several hundred years, then roman Catholicism began the corruption culminating in the Protestant Reformation in 1517.

It is not my place to demand what and how the Church can exercise by her authority.

I wonder if all the Saints from the Apostles and on into the 3rd and 4th century had verified and public evidence of their sanctity.

I accept the title Saint for Pope John Paul II.

I am not a sedevacantist.

I am a simple, practicing Roman Catholic in love with my Church, knowing that I am a Child of God and trying to live each day in such a way that I can be, as my good Irish ancestors say, on “my way to glory”.

It’s a big and serious thing to accuse a Pope like this.
If it can’t be definitely proven, it is slander and could even be, in some case, calumny.

Where on Earth did you come up with that weird concept?????

If you'd put down your catechism and pick up a bible, you'd know where I come up with that stuff...

Rom_10:19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

Right there is one of many places...Do you have trouble understanding that verse???

Here's another...

Rom 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

I understand your religion requires you deny those things but man, it's right in front of your eyes...

>> It’s a big and serious thing to accuse a Pope like this.

It’s a far bigger and more serious thing to claim the title of Vicar of Christ and use one’s power to please men (and to lead some astray) by condoning, recommending, and facilitating that which GOD declares an abomination.

And it’s an abrogation of our role as watchmen to witness this heresy and FAIL to speak out.

Grounds for divorce as was the case with Henry VIIII are not the same as grounds for annulment. This is not some abstract discussion involving wooden rules.

What say you to a poor devout Paraguayan woman who works the farms, has several kids and then divorces because of her husband’s infidelity or for any other reasons that breaks up the marriage. She remarries. Her new husband supports the kids.

Are you saying the Church cannot streamline the process of annulment to embrace her situation without resorting to costs and time consuming procedures?

And yet Christ allowed for a one-one-one Divine Encounter willing to share a drink (communion) with the much married Samaritan woman at the well who was also living with another man to whom she was not even married. In fact it was the Christ who initiated the life-changing experience. That’s what the reception of Eucharist does.

Isn’t this what Francis is trying to accomplish?

It's a "big and serious" sin for a pope to allow this synod of sin to continue under his watch and moderation.

“Finally, it is the Bible itself that calls the Church, not the Scriptures, the “pillar and foundation of truth” (1st Timothy 3:15).”

Yet who was it that preached the Gospel in advance to Abraham?

“And the scripture, foreseeing, that God justifieth the Gentiles by faith, told unto Abraham before: In thee shall all nations be blessed.”—Galatians 3:8 DR

And who was it that “...concluded all under sin, that the promise, by the faith of Jesus Christ, might be given to them that believe”?

SCRIPTURE. (Galatians 3:22)

This is the very "reasoning" that led us to abortion on demand. How devout is this poor Paraguayan woman if she "re-married" outside of the Church anyhow? And I especially like the way you upped the ante on Our Lord by granting declarations of nullity based on "any other reasons" that break up a marriage.

In fact it was the Christ who initiated the life-changing experience. That’s what the reception of Eucharist does.

No seriously, you REALLY write like a liberal, if you're going to try and fake your way into the appearance of being conservative or traditional at least learn the way the lingo works.
