“I’M THE FRICKEN POPE, SO SHUT THE HELL UP, ” he explained.
What's Up With the Synod ^ | October 17, 2015 | Hilary White

Posted on 10/18/2015 10:17:38 AM PDT by ebb tide

Pope Francis marks 50th anniversary of Synod’s institution

“Finally,” explained Pope Francis, “the synodal process culminates in listening to the Bishop of Rome, called upon to speak authoritatively [It. pronunciare] as ‘Shepherd and Teacher of all Christians’: not on the basis of his personal beliefs, but as the supreme witness of the Faith of the whole Church, the guarantor of the Church’s conformity with and obedience to the will of God, to the Gospel of Christ and the Tradition of the Church.”

And in totally, we swear, completely unrelated news…

Traits of narcissistic personality disorder: The most telling thing that narcissists do is contradict themselves. They will do this virtually in the same sentence, without even stopping to take a breath. It can be trivial (e.g., about what they want for lunch) or it can be serious (e.g., about whether or not they love you). When you ask them which one they mean, they’ll deny ever saying the first one, though it may literally have been only seconds since they said it — really, how could you think they’d ever have said that? You need to have your head examined!

UPDATE: an explanatory comment from my Guy Inside

“He’s fudging… he’s strongly implying infallibility, but not saying that he will pronounce infallibly.

“He wants everyone to come away with ‘Whoa… this is infallible. We hear and obey!’ but leaving plausible deniability to say, ‘No, no, I never claimed this particular bit was infallible….'”

So large buildings are the measure of the church, eh?

Yes He did protect the truth. It came out around 1517 and has been going strong since.

He did just that, we matured, grew, and turned into a magnificent organization with Christ at its head.

Christ's Church has been immaculate since the Pentecost. This nonsense about "maturing", "growing" and "turning" is all Protestant nonsense.

Large buildings measure nothing except the existence of the builder.....Are you saying that the Christian religion, founded by Christ that it took 1517 years to be recognized as such....good grief

If you even believe in the Holy Bible, you deny what is in it— the clear and obvious establishment of the priesthood in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, which itself was written by Apostle *priests*. You and yours have no relationship whatsoever to the church as set forth in the Bible.

There are no priests in the New Testament bible...And the clergy there are required to be married with children...If your bible says otherwise, it's a fake...A counterfeit...

If your clergy wear long robes, embroidered with gold and love to sit at the front of the congregation, yours is a false religion according to the bible...You are forbidden to call these clergy father...If they tell you that you can't eat certain foods on certain days, it's a false church...It is not the church of the bible, according to the bible...

If you give reverence to any individual which goes what is beyond written in the bible, you are rebuked by the bible...

Jesus says the Old Testament consists of the Psalms, the Law and the Prophets...If your bible has more books than those, it is a fake bible...And this is just the short list...

How could it be that the Church didn’t/shouldn’t grow? Wasn’t that intent of the Pentecost? “Go and preach the Gospel to all nations.” It was intended to grow.

Today it is in Ireland, Scotland, Africa, Japan(thanks to the great missionary St. Frances Xavier), India, the Phillipines, Guam, China (where it is suppressed) the American continents...shall I go on? All of these areas were the efforts of..first the Apostles...and then our missionary priests.

The Church, in its “infancy” in the early centuries has rightly “matured”: we have churches, cathedrals, schools, monasteries, religious orders, charitable foundations. That is a maturing of the spreading of the Gospel, which we were commissioned to do.
None of that is “nonsense”. It is visible signs of fulfilling the commission of the Lord Jesus Himself.

If you don't think that the Catholic church matured, grew, and prospered over the centuries, then you're sadly mistaken

It is about the indissolubility of marriage. "Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder." (Matthew 19:6) Those who deliberately disregard God's clear directive on this matter have (by their own free will) REJECTED the "Divine Encounter".

No they haven't...We are not under the law but under Grace, with a merciful God...We are not God's chosen people (Jews under the law) who those things were directed to, we are the Gentile church with much liberty to make those Jews jealous...

“...burn all versions of JPII’s “catholic “ catechism”

This is a version of iconoclasm.

Also,BTW, .... it’s St. John Paul II.

You don’t have the authority to alter that. It is not for you to decide.

The Church grew until VCII. Since then is another matter. Check the stats.

The present pontiff discouraged a leading Protestant “minister”, Tony Palmer, from converting to the one, true Faith.

Good thing then that according to Protestants there is no need for confession.

Now don't make stuff up...You never heard that from any Protestant (except maybe Donald Trump)...

>> It is not the church of the bible, according to the bible...

The slick way around that is to claim that if Holy Papa says “A” which is in contradiction to the Bible which says “B”... then Papa overrules. Because, you see, he was elected by some cardinals and what he says is infallible! Oh, and because Peter.

I think they call it “Sola Po-Po” or something. It is a replacement for our stubborn belief in GOD’s flimsy Word, which they denigrate as “Sola Scriptura” or something.

It’s all very confusing, from their point of view. (Pretty clear from where I stand, though, which is on JESUS’ saving work and His complete and all-sufficient Word).

Stop lol....The authors, prophets were certainly contributors to what became the bible, but it was the Catholics who compiled these writings

Can't stop LOL, they were 'contributors'? Compiled the writings? How far is compiling from writing the Bible? The Catholic church was the equivalent of Readers Digest.

..just so you could have a book with all this stuff in it....without them, the stuff would undoubtedly exist, but you'd never know where and how to get it to read.....

Right! Heck no one would ever want to read this stuff, who but the Catholics could have ever done something like it? Good thing they preserved God's Word, He couldn't have done it. The Catholic rooster crows again and makes the sun rise.

Christ, however, had promised to watch over His flock and protect her from serious error....He did just that, we matured, grew, and turned into a magnificent organization with Christ at its head.

That's one of the reasons we know your church is not the body of Christ...There are no tares in the body of Christ...Yet there are plenty of tares in your church and mine...
