Well; I've finally hit the wall.
I'm at a loss at how to respond to THIS one...
James 2:25 - “In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?”
Thomas Oden in his book The Good Works Reader talks about this on page 350. He has quotes from early Church fathers who put it concisely much like Grateful2God did.
