Trump on His Favorite Bible Verse: ‘That’s Personal’
Breitbart TV ^ | 8/26/15 | Pam Key

Wednesday on Bloomberg TV’s “With All Due Respect,” host Mark Halperin and John Heilemann asked Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump what his favorite Bible verse is.

Trump has said many times on the campaign trail the Bible is his favorite book.

Heilemann asked, “You mentioned the Bible and talked about how it was your favorite book and you said, I think last night on in Iowa, some people are surprised you say that. I am wondering what one or two of your most favorite Bible verses are and why?”

Trump answered, “I wouldn’t want to get into it because to me that’s very personal. You know when I talk about the Bible it’s very personal.I don’t want to get into it.”

Heilemann asked, “There no verse that means a lot to you that you think about about or cite?”

....”Apparently some FReepers would prefer a Sunday School teacher like Jimmy Carter”....

The media is attempting to make religion a primary issue....the candidates should not play that game for it’s a loose loose for everyone who dives into that trap.

It’s ‘more than’ sufficient to say one is a Christian and just leave it at that.....it should not be part of the equation.

Need we remind people that God chose Saul before he became Paul....that David had a heart for God yet he became a murder and adultress “WHILE” he followed God....Further I have no doubt most Christians on this site have some dirty laundry hanging in their closets as well.

It’s a man of courage, strength and determination we need and not just one to manage what’s ahead....we should all be praying God will raise them according to HIS purpose surely NOT ours!!!

It does matter, because his answer clearly displays he has not read or studied the Bible. Any one who has done any Bible study can name multiple verses. And any one who studies the Bible has a verse that has touched them and made a significant impact in their life.

Suppose he misquoted the verse, or couldn’t name the book and chapter. The media would have a field day with that - he’d be an instant liar.

For instance, I have several favorite verses but I cant remember where they came from book and verse - nor can I quote them verbatim. My absolute favorite is:

“My peace I leave with you, mine own peace; Peace which the world can not give, I give to you.”

Jindal read the Bible in his closet from cover to cover using a flashlight so his Hindu parents wouldn’t find out what he was doing.

He later converted to Catholicism; he could EASILY recite his favorite passages.

Absolutely. If the President is true to the Constitution, all religion wins.

As someone posted a few days ago, we’re not hiring a preacher. If we were, all Bible questions are fair game. But we’re not.

But has he? I have not heard him reciting his favorite passage from the Bible or any other candidate. They just pick on Trump?

From what I’ve seen, only Trump is on the television to even ask, anyway. If I heard correctly, Jindal missed the first debate. :) But Jindal could talk circles around Trump on Jesus and the Bible. There would be no contest whatsoever. Trump is very good at being Trump, though. No one can top him at that!

I dont know anyone his age who got through college without having to read the bible. I read it in an English class one time. And in a comparative religion class another time. He may not believe it. Who knows what is in his heart.

I would be pretty confident that he’s perused the cliff notes at least.

If I was Trump I would tell CNN Ezekiel 35:17 which is Samuel L.Jackson’s rant from “Pulp Fiction” and let it go at that. Most of them would never get a clue. :-)

My suggestion to Donald:

“Ezekiel 25:17. “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.”

Ezekiel 25:17 does not say what you say. Your last two sentences are close. Ezekiel 35:17 does not exist.

Yeh its Ezekiel 25:17 “ And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.”

Dude its a joke. Most people got it. Its Samuel L. Jackson’s famous rant from a movie. LOL!
