  1. Like Mormonism, "The Rapture" is a teaching largely invented in the 19th Century by Restorationist Christianity unhappy with the progress of Protestantism and was not taught in historical Christianity until recently.
  2. The term is not in the Bible.
  3. Some are so drunk on the prospect of "the Rapture" that they drink it from this passage, claiming the "falling away" is the Rapture. "Falling away" in the KJV is from the Greek word ἀποστασία (apostasy). It is sad and erroneous that they look for "The Rapture" in the great apostasy before the genuine coming of our LORD Jesus Christ.
  4. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Second Thessalonians, Catholic chapter two, Protestant verses one to three,
as authorized, but not authored, by King James

  5. When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
Acts, Catholic chapter one, Protestant verses six to twelve,
as authorized, but not authored, by King James

  6. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
    From the Apostles' Creed
  7. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
    from the Nicene Creed

As to the old saw that the word is not in the Bible, the Latin Vulgate has the Latin word rapio in the 1 Cor 4:13-18 passage, and it is from that we get 'rapture'.

As to your addressing 'apostasia', the first five of six Bibles into English translated apostasia as departure, until the Catholic Rheims bible used revolt (in the midst of trying to fend off the protestant movement, it is 'understandable'. The King James translated the word apostasia from 2 Thess 2:3 as 'falling away'.

I keep posting material about the Bible references to the coming event in hopes that some will awaken to the reality about to slam into them from God. Harden not your heart. He is returning in the air, sooner than you could even imagine. If you have His Holy Spirit seal upon your spirit, it will resonate accordingly and you will be transformed, in a moment, int he twinkling of an eye, when the voice calls and the trumpet sounds.

If you do not have His Holy SPirit seal upon your spirit, when you are left here facing the wrath that is coming following the Rapture, call upon the Lord, not the catholic church. He will save. The catholic church cannot. God is sovereign over His Grace.

To perhaps help you out, I'll post the verses following the ones you posted (2 Thess 2:4-11), since they indicate that The Restrainer will be taken out of the way, and that IS The Holy Spirit indwelling believers ... and the believers with His Spirit indwelling are to be taken out of the way so the lawlessness can be loosed and the Wrath of God poured out.

2 Thessalonians 2: 3-11
World English Bible

1Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the departure comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction, he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God. Don't you remember that, when I was still with you, I told you these things? Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way. Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming; even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn't receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 Because of this, God sends them a working of error, that they should believe a lie; that they all might be judged who didn't believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Beware the 'working error for it will prevent so many from calling out to the Lord for deliverance after the Rapture takes the body of believers, the Body of Christ, The Bride of Christ out from the coming wrath; (see Rev 3, the Philadeplphia Church was promised to be kept even from the hour of the testing, much less the actual testing.)

On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

He won't be coming at the Rapture...We'll be going...That solves your dilemma...

I’ll go out on a limb here and make a prediction:

Someday; I’ll be dead (If Jesus tarrys just a bit longer).
Someday; Jesus will return to Earth.
Someday; there’ll be some kind of Judgment.
Someday; we will ALL get our JUST reward.
Someday; we FR Prots and Catholics will quit fussing over stuff.
