yes....you've got to start from the beginning with some things.

the disciples of Christ have grown from 12 to many, many millions.

>>Recall that Paul had to correct Peter. Not a good claim to Peter being the rock.<<

Not quite true, Paul told the Galatians about such an incident.

Are you saying that Paul did not correct Peter face to face over Peter's withdrawal from the Gentiles??

He told the Galatians he with stood Peter face to face because Peter was wrong.

There is nothing recorded in acts of this happening, meaning no witnesses.

The anti Catholic`s want to see more proof other than what Jesus provided about Peter being the rock.

But what ever Paul says is the Gospel.

Something not quite right.

Chapter and verse, please, per guidelines.

What do you want the chapter and verse of?

The “Church” is the body of all Born Again Christians and has nothing to do with any denomination. Those entering the body of Christ do so only when called by The Father and given the gift of faith. The Father doesn’t ask anyone for permission to add people to His Church.

Why do you “talk,” if not “pray” to these “saints?” There's no Scriptural basis for this practice.

Oh, wait a minute, I need to “talk/venerate/ask for intercession from” the Catholic church's “Patron Saint of iPhone keyboards,” because I'm always having some sort of typo. Could you give me the name of whom I need to “talk/venerate/ask for intercession?” If it helps, I think his/her birthday is April 1.

And called “Satan” by Christ.

You left that part out about the history of your church.

Are you questioning if this happened between Paul and Peter?

There is a large amount of evidence in Scripture to support the Catholic Church’s claim to authority,

ironic

The Church is the Catholic Church. The Orthodox can also call themselves members of the Church of Christ because of apostolic succession and sharing the same sacraments as Catholics. Not so for protestant sects. That ended with the heretics breaking away 500 years ago. They are members of faith communities. I’m right, you’re wrong, end of discussion.

Nope.

They only have the authority that Christians give to them. I don’t give the Catholic church authority over me as a Christian.

In light of the recent posts stressing unity over divisiveness, I have to ask, what about this thread? It is all about the Catholic claim that only its church is a legitimate one and is alone “Christ’s church.” And it has given rise to comments such as one by the article’s poster:

I think it was an accusation rather than a correction.

That’s why I have refrained from commenting on this thread it was obvious baiting or they would have made it a caucus thread

It was a caucus thread but as it mentioned Protestant the RM removed the caucus designation. Hence the free flow of discussion.

. I personally enjoy these discussions as long as we all keep the civil.

. You never know what you know until you have to defend it.

. I also recommend we all quit running to Jim over ever little thread or comment that bothers us. There are enough folks who do that already. Let's let the RM do their job and we will all have a good discussion. Just my two cents.

True, it was Saul that met Jesus and had a conversation with him.

Being as Paul used to have the name Saul, then indeed Paul DID meet Jesus.

It’s in the New Testament. Do you want the Book, Chapter and verses?

There is no record of this ever being a caucus thread.
