Catholic bishops' deafening silence on Planned Parenthood harvesting of baby parts
Spero News ^ | 7/22/15 | Fr. Thomas Collins

Posted on 07/22/2015 7:12:42 PM PDT by markomalley

Sadly, for President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party, Planned Parenthood's policy of "harvesting" and selling the tissues and organs of aborted babies is a virtuous act of heroism by women, who have generously donated parts of their bodies, so that they can be sold by abortionists for medical research. After all, as Dr. Josef Mengele, the "Angel of Death" at Auschwitz, pointed out, they were going to be killed anyway. So why not make some extra money from their deaths?

And Catholic "pro-choice" politicians correctly point out that many bishops continue to acquiesce to their contention that the Eucharistic Christ wants to regularly ratify with His Own Body and Blood the morality of their abortion agenda. If the silence of our bishops continues to concede to this "pro-choice" contention that Christ considers the barbaric butchering of babies in utero as a legitimate dimension of "social justice", is it any wonder that the courts do not take seriously the Church's conscientious bjections to the HHS contraception-abortion mandate? Indeed, the Church's liturgical practice for decades has shown that this is not really a serious moral issue. How can the Church legitimately object to a practice, which she herself routinely ratifies through one of the most sacred actions of her liturgy?

And did not the President of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops give the Democratic Party Convention his benediction as that party was demanding not only more contraception and abortion, but also the legal redefinition of marriage to include sodomitic relationships? How is it that a Cardinal of the Catholic Church would freely bless a group pro-actively promoting actions in clear violation of his Church's basic moral convictions?

Sadly, solid evidence has been accumulating over the years to indicate that the bureaucracy at the USCCB has incrementally become merely a sycophantic branch of the Democratic Party. I cannot help but wonder how much more perversion will be required before the Vatican and the USCCB finally recognize that the agenda of the Democratic Party has declined beyond degeneracy into the promotion of intrinsic evil. Its whole agenda is based upon policies that aim to abort our posterity, our morality, our economy, our military and our polity. And all this is done to promote political cronyism, perversion and promiscuity as linchpins of "social justice" and the New World Order.

I pray that God may show more mercy on us than we have shown to our posterity! And may we finally come to take seriously the dire warnings given to us by Our Blessed Mother nearly a century ago at Fatima!

Fr Tom Collins is a priest of the Diocese of Arlington.

BTW, if anybody has read any comments from the hierarchy, please post them as a refutation of Fr. Collins' statements.

amazing but the writer may have a point, I had just assumed the bishops would be leading the charge against the Nazi style mass murder of human babies with carving them up for resale in bits and pieces

what a horrible horrible horrible Satanic thing to be going on, and in USA!!! May God have mercy on us!!!!!!!

As a note, you can read comments from Archbishop Chaput here:

But Planned Parenthoods’ callous disregard for the bodies of innocent babies should have surprised no one, according to Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia.

“No one should be shocked by this video,” Archbishop Chaput said in a statement for the Register. “This is who Planned Parenthood is and what it does. It’s been part of the organization’s gene code from the start. The logic of its disdain for new life is just working itself out. And it won’t stop until the money and the media adulation are cut off.”

It will be interesting to see if Raymond Arroyo discusses this (and who is guest is if he does) on his weekly program tomorrow (Thu, 7/23).

Archbishop Chaput is a good man. Probably there are a few other bishops who have spoken out, but it certainly is true that most of them have not done enough.

I have a friend in Columbia who was going to bring his wife to the United States next spring. He told me last week that he is now afraid to visit the US because he senses something bad might happen soon.

The bishops, collectively, ceased to be Catholic at Vatican II. Since then, the bishops, collectively, have not supported Catholic teachings.

The Catholic Church, regardless the USCCB, the current ideological pontiff as well as any scandal that rightfully condemns the people entrusted to enforcing ad preserving the tenets of the Church for those who don’t have enough motivation or wisdom to get the hell off the couch and Google the catechism, have plainly stated that abortion as well as all birth control, THE PARENT of its offspring, abortion, cultural acceptance of homosexuality, immodesty, promiscuity, destruction of the family, is not expected at least by me to come out and say , well, it’s ok to kill babies, well maybe not, but when you start making money, that’s where we draw the line

Disgusting

No

The lack of outrage people are outraged about, apologies to rush, is not there in the true pro life realm

Once you have a mother kill it’s baby, what does it matter if some ghoul gets a Lamborghini out of the deal?

Sorry

One good thing out of many good things that will come of this expose is that people will be forced to pay attention visually to the horrors of abortion which were plain to me as an elementary school kid in 1970 when the abortion bill came up for debate

Not necessarily a bad idea; if we didn't live here, we would never move here.

The article above mentions the dire warnings of Fatima, and the apparitions of Our Lady at Akita mirror those warnings to a degree as well.

Here is a portion of the Akita apparitions [on 10-13-73] which were given Church approval:

"As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests."

"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord..."

The Catholic Church’s stand against abortion is very clear. Does Fr. Collins expect the USCCB to chime in on everything related to Planned unParenthood?

Wrong!
It’s not so clear, not when the same bishops who urge the faithful to participate in the March for Life will be dining with the abortion-financing Pelosis, Bidens, Kennedys, OMalleys, Mikulskis that nite.

The USCCB is staffed by mostly ultra-left Democrats who came through revolving doors from Democrat or left wing operations.

The recently retired staffer who ran the big Campaign for Human Development was formerly a Democrat staffer. He oversaw the grant of $7 million to ACORN, a leading abortion support group.

I know people outside the RC Church who have very little use for the RCC (pre or post Vatican2). Indeed, a few of them are strongly anti-RCC. But they greatly respect and appreciate the Church’s active pro-life stand.

I can only say I pray it will continue.

You have hit upon an endemic part of the problem. The USCCB should not have ANY staff at all. They are NOT a governing body, and they have no authority over one single Catholic.

We have bishops, who in many cases have auxiliary bishops too, and they all have chanceries with staff. They have priests, managers, secretaries, consultants, committees, lay contributors, and press agents. That should not be duplicated on the USCCB level.

Nobody reports to the USCCB except its own staff. Nobody, including US (in case anyone is in doubt) is beholden to a fraternal body with no Church authorization to make policy or direct a single Catholic layperson. They are basically a discussion group.

Your own bishop in your own diocese is the only one who can claim obedience from you, not the USCCB. Your particular bishop is consecrated to his sacred position in order to teach, govern and sanctify in his geographical boundaries. That bishop “reports” directly to the Holy Father, not to the USCCB. Lots of folks don’t realize these facts.

Chaput is a blowhard.

He has a priest, Paul Morrissey, OSA, who has been campaigning for gay marriage, publishing articles calling for gay marriage IN the Catholic Church, etc. Chaput has done nothing.

In 1968, Cardinal Patrick A. O’Boyle suspended fifty-two priests, including his own confessor, a Jesuit, for signing a declaration promoting contraception.

The USCCB has chimed in in support of giving Iran nuclear bombs. The USCCB has chimed in in support of Hussein’s ILLEGAL actions on immigration. (The USCCB NEVER CARES if an action is illegal. They judge government actions entirely by results.)

The USCCB takes public policy positions on approximately 100 issues. On about THREE of them, a Catholic is obliged to agree with them. (Abortion, fetal stem-cell research, euthanasia.)

"The Pope is too busy pushing communism and climate change"

Exactly.

Who has time to promote the family, traditional marriage, human life?

Mere trifles and "road bumps" when global warming is the MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER.

The Pope's silence on the teachings of the Catholic church is deafening.

He should be screaming his head off about those things.

Alas, no.

He's just a politician. And a very dangerous one at that.
