By the testimony of the Holy Spirit I know that I belong to God by adoption through Jesus Christ. It is God that has chosen this method and I could never do this myself.
I’m also very thankful that he has blessed my whole family with the same.

We’ve both now shared our personal testimonies in this thread. Won’t one of our chief preoccupations in heaven be for each of us, billions of us, to share our testimonies with one another, only in much greater detail, by way of praising Him—and we will all listen eagerly and respond enthusiastically?
In 1981, after committing a couple of felonies, I went on the run (seriously synopsizing, here) and went to (I didn't know it at the time) a Messianic Jew's house for assistance to leave the state I was in
Little did I know that on August 15, 1981 at his kitchen table, about 7:30 in the evening ... after Eddie had talked with me for some time, I realized I was a sinner in need of salvation, or I was going to go to hell when I died
I didn't want that
So I bowed my head and closed my eyes ('cause that was what I thought the meekest position I could take, at the time) and I told Jesus I was sorry for being an a###### (yes, I did say that) and would he forgive me and take me to heaven when I died
I might have said some other things, but I don't remember ... it was 1981
Eddie had told me about salvation and being born again and all that, but I had been raised to be a Catholic, so THOSE words were not that impactful to me .... going to heaven when I died WAS
During the next couple of months, God led me and fed me through the Bible (for the first time in my life I actually READ it ... ( Catholics, in the 50's and 60's didn't encourage people to read the Bible) and GOD HIMSELF WITNESSED IN MY HEART A SINCERE DESIRE TO BE BAPTIZED .... which is weird because, Catholics are baptized as infants and don't NEED to be baptized ... but I attest to you here and now ... God was the One that put that desire in my heart ..... I was living alone in a rural setting with very little human contact and no TV
I looked in the phone book for a Baptist church (where else ?) and made a call
I got picked up the next Sunday and I have been in church every Sunday since !
I've given my testimony before and only ONCE, here in FR did I develop the entire story (1999, I think) and EVERY born again believer HAS A NOVEL FOR A TESTIMONY ABOUT THE TIME HE WAS SAVED

If I do this in heaven, there will be a lot of Christians and angels covering up their ears and running for cover!
I have no real idea what heaven is like. As long as Jesus is there, it’s all magnificent.
