Maybe the time for political discussion is ended

Joshua 24:15

King James Version (KJV)

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

I (and many others) have been saying for a while now that the only solution to America’s problems now is spiritual not political.

You are, of course correct.

And not a moralistic, therapeutic deism but the true Gospel!

Thank you for the post. Long past time for this nation to return to first principles.

Thanks also for posting it in KJV. :)

Affirmative sir, I do indeed. It happened when I was born again, once and for all, now and forever. How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed. It seems to me someone should write a hymn with those words. Oh wait....

I also have assurance of salvation. I know, I know, that's not "playing by the rules." I have no intention of playing by the rules, and waiting till I croak to see if I make it to Heaven. 😂😇😎 Thanks for your concern bro. 😱

Agnostic humanism has lead to evil going unchecked and the erosion of morality. Human view of right and wrong, good and evil, is not God’s view. We need to follow God’s truth, revealed in His word and thru the saints and our Lord Jesus Christ.

but the true Gospel!

Whatever that is.

One can find numerous, mutually contradictory opinions on that topic expressed even on this forum, all supported by Scripture. Logic dictates that they cannot all be right (but they could all be wrong).

As a nation, we'd be far better off if we spent our time respectfully discussing that topic instead of making excuses for buggery, abortion, and theft.

Though you have not seen him, you love him;
and even though you do not see him now,
you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
for you are receiving the end result of your faith,
the salvation of your souls.

Yes; I accepted Christ in my dad’s church when I was eight. Dad wasn’t preaching that night, but a missionary headed for Liberia was. Later that year I followed the Lord in baptism.

People need to understand that just believing in God is not the way to salvation. Satan and his demons believe in God. It’s a personal decision.

America needs revival. We don’t have much time left before there is no America.

Good Morning!

Thanks for cutting through the fat and getting to the real meat! It all boils down to that when the rubber meets the road.

Politics will never solve our real issues.

John 3
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

1 John 5
5 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

John 11
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Romans 10:9-13 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

“Do YOU personally know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior as the Holy Scriptures teach.”

Romans 10:13Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)

13 For, “every one who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Of course I personally know Jesus Christ as my Savior. I’m a Catholic.

Yes I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, Redeemer, Exemplar, and the Only Begotten Son of the Living God the Father.

I am also a practicing Member of the LDS Church (Mormons).

While I am confident that Jesus knows who I am and approves of my efforts to be obedient to his teachings and my worship of his father, I am continually amazed at those who claim Christianity and yet usurp Christ’s judgment by claiming divine the authenticity of my Christianity and acceptability to Christ himself.

Christ himself has stated “Judge not that ye be not judged, for with that same judgment that ye judge, ye shall surely be judged” Matt. 7:1-3

I believe that all followers of Christ should take pause before they pass judgment on who is acceptable before Christ and who is not. A personal habit of such judgement will surely ere at some, if not many instances. And it is Christ’s prerogative alone to decide who is acceptable to him.

In humility I wish upon you all the blessings, prosperity, perseverance, charity-love, and wisdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his Father, the Almighty God of the All.

from Prologue – O Lost – by Thomas Wolfe

(wonder what the writer was searching for?)

…a stone, a leaf, an unfound door; of a stone, a leaf, a door. And of all the forgotten faces.

Naked and alone we came into exile. In her dark womb we did not know our mother’s face: from the prison of her flesh have we come into the unspeakable and incommunicable prison of this earth.

Which of us has known his brother? Which of us has looked into his father’s heart? Which of us has not remained forever prison-pent? Which of us is not forever a stranger and alone?

O waste of loss, in the hot mazes, lost, among bright stars on this most weary unbright cinder, lost! Remembering speechlessly we seek the great forgotten language, the lost lane-end into heaven, a stone, a leaf, an unfound door. Where? When?

O lost, and by the wind grieved, ghost, come back again.

*******
