Stem-Cell Wars Aren't Over: How "Donated" Aborted Baby Parts Are Being Used
Creative Minority Report ^ | July 16, 2015 | Rebecca Taylor

I wrote this piece weeks ago. It has just now been published online. I had no idea that the Center for Medical Progress was about to drop the bomb on Planned Parenthood and their participation in the market for aborted baby parts. In case you were wondering what some companies use aborted baby parts for, read my latest at the National Catholic Register:

"It has been several years since the height of the stem-cell controversy, where every day debate raged over the destruction of embryos for embryonic stem cells. These human embryos, conceived in a lab by the hundreds of thousands, are only days old but hold inside a mass of stem cells that scientists told us held the key to regenerative medicine.

These little lives, no bigger than the period at the end of a sentence, were deemed disposable, easily sacrificed to advance medical treatments for everything from paralysis to Parkinson’s.

In the great stem-cells wars, we learned that embryonic stem cells are immature and unwieldy, causing tumors in animal models. Adult stem cells, on the other hand, are more stable — and therefore safer for treating patients. As the years have passed, we have heard more and more about adult stem-cell successes and less and less about the failure of embryonic stem cells to become the cure-all many promised.

But the stem-cell wars are far from over. There is a third designation of stem cells that is little known but is gaining momentum: the fetal stem cell. Human beings are called embryos for the first eight weeks after fertilization. After that, we enter the fetal stage, which is from nine weeks post-fertilization until birth. Fetal stem cells are stem cells harvested during the fetal stage of development.

Fetal stem cells, often procured from elective abortions, are disingenuously classified as “adult” stem cells simply because they do not come from embryos. Needless to say, this creates great confusion, even causing pro-lifers to tout “adult” stem-cell successes when the stem cells originally came from an aborted fetus.

Hockey legend Gordie Howe was in the headlines this year for his remarkable recovery from a stroke after a stem-cell treatment in Tijuana, Mexico. Former San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback John Brodie also received the same treatment. Initially, the reports indicated that Howe and Brodie were treated with “adult” stem cells. Pro-life news feeds lit up with the news.

But enterprising USA Today sports reporter Brent Schrotenboer revealed last month that the treatment Howe and Brodie received from Stemedica Cell Technologies included stem cells derived from an aborted fetus."

Another California company, Ganogen Inc., is trying to end the shortage of organs for transplant. Their solution is horrifying. Ganogen takes organs from aborted fetuses and transplants them into rats so that the organs can continue to grow to a size where they can be transplanted back into humans. The company recently announced that it has been successful growing kidneys from an aborted baby inside a rat for several months.

Ping!

That is so disturbing that I simply don’t know what to say.

A few years ago when California voters were deciding a referendum on funding fetal cell research, it had language regarding cloning that fooled some people into voting for the measure. It said that human cloning “for reproductive purposes” would not be allowed. I had to point out to a co-worker who had been fooled by that phrase (and hence voted in favor) that all it meant was that any baby created by cloning would not be allowed to live, but would be used for research, organ harvesting, etc.; otherwise, there would be no reason to even incorporate the “for reproductive purposes” phrase in the language of the measure.

Embryonic stem-cell therapy has not held any promise and is just a cover to continue the abortion industry.

Stem-cell therapy using ones own cells is having success but this does not make the alphabet news.

Perhaps we can get PETA to protest this abhorant procedure as Rat Abuse/cruelty to animals. That seems (sickingly) to get a more positive response to people than killing innocent unborn babies.

The only stem cell research that has ever had and positive results, that I’ve heard of, has been based upon stem cells from ADULTS, NOT embryos.

Great idea! Were someone to post a video in which a veterinarian described how they harvested parts from a pregnant dog, there would be a national outcry.

That’s right. My father in law has been successfully treated using his own cels.

The only stem cell research that has ever had and positive results, that I’ve heard of, has been based upon stem cells from ADULTS, NOT embryos.

Stem cells can be harvested from parts left over after childbirth: the placenta and umbilicus (which are both baby tissues). These would be a good source for future treatments for the child as he/she grows, since they would be an exact tissue match.

It makes more sense to take stem cells that already have characteristics of the mature tissue--i.e. stem cells harvested from the patient whom they are destined to treat--than to try to induce completely undifferentiated stem cells into developing into that tissue. Using embryonic or fetal stem cells has always been highly problematic, for that reason and others. Another main problem is that embryonic and fetal cells are figuratively bathing in soups of growth regulators, which both give them signals to grow as fast as possible and to stop growth. Removed from those regulators, they want to grow unstoppably.

In other words, aborted baby parts can produce stem cells that will be labeled as "adult"

I thought Shawn Carney’s article was sent on either Sunday or Monday, but it appears that he sent it on Tuesday of this week.

WARNING: This will not be easy to read.

Planned Parenthood is America’s largest abortion chain, and there are many compelling reasons to pray and offer hope outside their facilities.

Now another reason has come to light ...

... and it is shocking and deeply disturbing.

A new investigative report released this morning alleges that Planned Parenthood is not interested in women’s health ... or “choice” ... but only MONEY. And the organization appears to demonstrate a willingness to do whatever it takes to make their cash register ring.

The Center for Medical Progress has released an undercover video in which executives at the highest levels of Planned Parenthood are implicated in the sale of aborted babies’ body parts for medical experimentation – a practice that is illegal. It’s a federal felony, and a conviction can be punished by up to 10 years in prison and $500,000 in fines.

To see the video, click on the image below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjxwVuozMnU&inf_contact_key=aa829015daa7b93ead17c74c29e0b0727b98bf711b7764583d7987e7764fde9f

David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress leveled the accusions in the wake of a 30-month-long investigation into Planned Parenthood. “Planned Parenthood’s criminal conspiracy to make money off of aborted baby parts reaches to the very highest levels of their organization,” he said.

In the video, a woman identified as Planned Parenthood’s senior medical services director, during a meeting with undercover investigators posing as buyers from a human biologics company, describes the use of partial-birth abortion to obtain undamaged fetal organs. Planned Parenthood’s national president, Cecile Richards, is also seen in the video, praising this horrific practice.

Planned Parenthood is the leading abortion business in the United States. While national abortion numbers have gone down in recent years, Planned Parenthood’s share of the total abortion market has continued to increase.

Their most recent annual report documents 327,653 abortions at Planned Parenthood in the last reported year – at least 30% of the US total – while the organization raked in 528 million taxpayer dollars.

Now it stands accused of tearing apart aborted babies and selling off their body parts for even more cash.

What can you do about all of this?

The first and most important thing is to call upon the Lord in prayer. Pray for abortion and all inhumane practices related to it to stop. Pray for people’s eyes to be opened to the brutal reality of what happens inside the abortion industry. Pray for our elected officials to cease the insane stream of taxpayer dollars flowing to this morally bankrupt organization.

And pray outside of the Planned Parenthood facility nearest to you.

Over the past eight years, 40 Days for Life volunteers have conducted more than 1,650 peaceful prayer vigils outside Planned Parenthood facilities. That’s almost half of the total number of local campaigns. Prayer will be coming to the sidewalks again outside more than 140 Planned Parenthood centers during the next 40 Days for Life campaign — from September 23 to November 1.

Since 2007 ... 27 Planned Parenthood abortion facilities and referral centers have closed following 40 Days for Life vigils. Let’s pray that God will hear our prayers now, and in this upcoming campaign ... and that many more Planned Parenthood locations will shut their doors forever

These are fully grown babies, not adults, but definitely not embryos.

Watch the video.

I didn’t know they were getting stemcells from babies for research. the big screams from Hollyweirders a few years ago, I thought was for ‘embryos’ thus a need to fertilize eggs that would never be implanted or get a chance to become a person.
