No problem bro. Maranatha. 😇
terycarl ..Did any of the apostles ask for the bread ???
Jesus asked them who was going to leave...your "pope" did not say he was staying because he wanted the bread... this is what he said..
John 6 68 Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.
Not you have the bread of eternal life.. you have the WORDS...Sola Scriptura !
So are Mormon Temples, and Buddhist temples and the "mosque " on the mount ....
Here is what scripture tells us
Acts 17:24 "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.
They are empty tributes to the men that made them
When the pronoun is cited as 'it' that indicates not a person but a thing, and Jesus has told catholics that the thing is His Church which He teaches catholics is a spiritual entity. So when you cite "it" as opposed to a him, as in Peter, you have affirmed that Jesus references a thing which is not Peter and which Jesus proclaimed authorship for not Peter.
Gesundheit!
But most DO!!
They just do not want to actually have to unfold the map and plot a path!
Ah-choo to you, bro
The ekklesia of Christ have no cathedrals in Rome or anywhere else.
Acts 17:24 "The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands;
The amazing thing is that people have been deceived into thinking those are cathedrals of the ekklesia. They are actually pagan temples wherein pagan rituals, rights, and ceremonies are performed.
Right. An ekklesia is not a building, It is just a gathering of people summoned (called out) to a meeting for a specific purpose, like that of the guild of silversmiths (Acts 19:24,32) whose source of income was making small statuettes of the god Diana for tourists.
Because it was not a lawfully called meeting (verse 30), the local town clerk dismissed the assembly--in Greek the "ekklesia"--of artisans and sent them home (verse 41).
CB, I know you are aware of this--this is just a comment for the benefit of other participants who do not understand that "church" simply means the meeting of a club when the members are gathered together regarding their common interest.
The place where they meet is not the ekklesia.
>> Because it was not a lawfully called meeting (verse 30 39) . . . <<
Over the many centuries since Christ instituted the catholic church, there have been literally thousands of brilliant people who have studied every letter of every word in the Bible....they have interpreted and re-interpreted them and mostly coming together on their meaning and purpose....Catholicism prevailed for 1,600 years and Protestant denominations sprang up which largely agreed with Catholic doctrine with some exceptions.
Then, you say, the navigators came along to set all the Catholics and protestants straight........just how did everyone else get it wrong, and along came Dawson Trotman, a California lumberyard worker, who changed the world....he knew the truth and those 1,930 or so years of Catholic teaching were so much fiction......O.K., I guess, but I'll take my chances with the Catholics.
I read through your very interesting article and while I realize that someone wrote it and formed some sort of an organization....I failed to spot where it had been declared an inerrant teaching of the Catholic church....
Yes, ole Daws was a great guy, who knew the truth. Now, that thing you said about 1930 years of catholic teaching being so much fiction. I never said that, but I wish I had.
You may feel free to take your chances with anyone you desire. That's on you. Just don't ask me to. Are you sure the chance you are taking, will get you to Heaven? Are you REALLY sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt? I am, and I am NOT taking my chances with the Catholics.
I’m happy Jesus had that conversation with Peter, and I’m happy Peter went on to start a church, as told to do so by Christ.
Christians of all denominations can be thankful for the same, otherwise no Christianity.
The best part is that the church started by Peter continues today.
Catholics love the scriptures, a great book of “Good News” to read to help save one’s soul and join Peter (the martyred Saint) in heaven. We believe God made us to to “know, love and serve Him in this life and the next.
Your attack on Peter for the sake of defining the rock serves no useful purpose, in my mind, other than trying to use it as an anti-Catholic tool.
Doesn’t work with me.
Like Franklin's response to the question: What kind of government do we have?
A Republic; if you can keep it.
Rome FAILED to keep it's 'church' from being a laughingstock.
Perhaps; with a bit more research; you could find where 'official' documents from Rome denouncing the poor catechism instruction that allows such 'teaching' to be attached to the church's apron strings.
To me; this implies that MOST of the teaching is fiction.
That is NO way close to the facts!
MOST of Catholic teaching is biblical based, and we Prots AGREE with it.
But; like the little bit of leavening that will affect the whole batch of dough; the EXTRAS from Rome has drastically affected it's message.
News to me!
But; if we DO accept this flimsy premise; then just WHERE are those 7 CATHOLIC churches in Asia that the angel warned through John in Revelation today?
How arrogant!
How boastful!!
How WRONG!!!
