Yes, of course, the Catholics look to the Kennedys, the Cuomos, and Nancy Pelosi and other Catholic democrats, for political leadership.

Most Catholics are supporters of their party.

If you believe that I hope you are praying for him, and trust in God that He will use Pope Francis in a good way somehow. I have faith and trust in God and that’s all we have. So pray instead of bash. Let God handle it.

“See Isaiah 22”

Excellent advice!!

I recently did a bit of research on the Keys myelf and also found the Isaiah 22 passage that Jesus references when giving Peter teh keyss. This is very important to understanding the papacy; that it is a stewardship/Prime Minister office that is totally scriptural.

Think of all the people that are reading it. They are being told you can’t be pro-environment and pro-abortion. You need to respect the gemder you were born with. He does not endorse greedy problem solvers or greedy solutions. He even says that this is to start a discussion and that it not a settled science. We now can bring in abortion and the poor into the debate. We might not agree with some of the things he has said about climate change, but in the end the moral high ground belongs to us.

I was not talking to non-Catholics. Yes, popes can be wrong. I will let God take care of it.

Do you think Saint Athanasius went to a anti-Catholic forum to discuss pope matters? There is a time and a place for everything. It may be the time but this is not the place. At least make the threads caucuses, so Catholics can discuss without all the protestant hate.

So that certain Catholics can still tell other Catholics not to bash the pope? C’mon. I ignore the “protestant hate”. It is of no consequence to me.

How do you know when they're right and when they're wrong?

There is a difference between discussing and bashing. The fact of the matter is most just want to bash. Whose soul does that help? We are to respect the office he holds whether we agree with him or not. Yes, some things he says are not understandable and you ask yourself why in the world would he say this and that, but we still have to pray for him. How many times have you gone to the true source of a “media” headline and found what they have said is twisted to mean something else. The devil wants all this confusion surrounding the pope. He knows if he can get people to turn against him, it is only a hop and a skip to get people to turn against the church. That is his end game. He knows that is how he will earn the most souls. So please pray for Pope Francis and our church.

God is God. I am not. I will let Him worry about it. It is to big for me. He will protect His church, he said as much.

Except that there was a post about how a Vatican official said “We need to reduce the population to 1 billion or so”.

That is what is being grabbed.

I have started the document, but haven’t got that deep into it yet.

I didn’t say He wasn’t. I said he still needs to trust in God, other wise he is making a liar out of Him.

That is not a Vatican official. What the encyclical does say is that you can’t be pro-environment and be pro-abortion. We must love and protect all life. Doesn’t sound like population control to me

The office of the chief steward or vice-regent of the ancient Davidic kingdom, the type for the papacy, is referred to as the “father to Jerusalem.” See Isaiah 22.

What a perversion of scripture...There is only one Holy Father and it ain't no faker in your Church...

Joh_17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

Agreed - there is only one Holy Father and no one said otherwise. (Matthew 6:9)

Peter was given the keys of the kingdom of heaven by Jesus himself in Matthew 16:19. The keys serve a similar function as those given to the steward/vice regent in Isaiah 22.

St. Peter did not become God the Father. No one thinks this.

Catholics use the entire bible as a cross reference to understand the context of a verse; they do not just pick verses out.

Ah, but those who label others as bashers just don’t like what’s being said even if it is the truth.

At what point does what Francis say and write actually mean what he says and writes? At what point do others stop labeling others as bashers and calumniators and recognize that all these folks are doing is repeating what Francis has said and done himself?

If I’m praying for Francis it’s for his conversion to the Traditional Catholic Faith.

Perhaps your nation is just more Catholic than ours, you might be from Ireland or Mexico, Venezula?

You may want to strike Ireland from your list...That Catholic nation just voted for 'gay marriage.'

Exactly, very much in keeping with the views of American Catholics, and Catholic voters from the Catholic nations south of our border.

The majority of Catholics in America, also vote for the party of abortion and gay marriage.

Catholics in America support gay marriage by 60%, just about the same as the Irish.
