God is neither "she" nor "he" says Watch, a group which represents women in the church.
The organisation has been accused of trying to "rewrite" Christian doctrine by encouraging people to use the female pronoun when talking about God.
Rev Jody Stowell, vicar at St Michael & All Angels Church in Harrow, says she was "dismayed" by recent reports.
"This is not about making God a woman. This is about creating those proper, Biblical images of God," she explains to Newsbeat.
The ideas surrounding which pronouns to use when talking about God were discussed at a committee meeting in Lambeth Palace, according to Hilary Cotton, chair of Watch.

Made in the image of God. Male and female he created them.
Christ was quite clear about “His Father in Heaven”.
My understanding is that both spellings are acceptable.
Excellent points. Thank you.
Arians. Followers of the Arius, who held that Jesus was not God.
Sorry, attempt at a joke.
I can almost hear the prayer now...
Our transgendered being that art in Heaven hallowed be it’s name
The gay feminazis want it to become a legal “hate crime” for us to call God as He revealed Himself.
They most likely want to make it a “hate crime” to call on the Name of the Lord in prayer, or especially to celebrate Divine Liturgy!!!!
God is not a being but the ground of all being. Yet God is not a force or cause but a person.
Conceiving of God in female imagery always leads to an unsound understanding, not because god is male, but because eventually creation is reconceptualized as birthgiving, abolishing the radical distinction between the created and the Uncreated.

If I understand you correctly, then I wholeheartedly agree.
The description of God as male has nothing to do with sex/gender, but is mainly used to distinguish Him from the Earth Mothers of pagan religions. These goddesses inevitably were said to have created the world/universe unconsciously, like childbirth. Whereas the Judeo-Christian God created the earth and heavens consciously, as a builder and craftsman.
Maybe this is what it’s going to take to get true Pastors to take a stand....nothing seems to get the church moving no matter how bad things get....
...”Christ was quite clear about His Father in Heaven....
Obvious to all except those who have turned their backs on the God of the Bible to serve one of their own design....
This is the homosexual agenda and feminist movements continuing their agendas.....most everything regarding sex today be it genders or sexuality is being pushed and supported by them......
To your point:

“The promotion and acceptance of lifeless, barren, selfish sex has logically progressed to homosexuality.”
The early church, as you put it, also rewrote the Old Testament while writing/editing the New to eliminate Mother God?
Judaism, from which Christ came, cidentifies God as male. You may employ all the mental and word gymnastics you wish. It is God the Father. Period.
The answer to both questions is “Yes” (which you already know, of course).
Here’s the problem:
“Rev Jody Stowell”
I thought it was funny.
Scripture always uses the masculine tense to refer to God. I’ll go with scripture.
