Rights of any kind aren't inherent, they're granted to mankind by God and He has clearly stated repeatedly in His Word that homosexual depravity is sin.

Although the U.S. became a majority-urban country between 1910 and 1920, the Depression slowed this migration, but urban migration increased rapidly after WW II. About 8% of the population moved from a rural to an urban domicile between 1940 and 1950.
In other words, the U.S. was already in the process of cultural decline, a process that the commies wanted to accelerate.
