In April 1841, Smith wed Louisa Beaman; and during the next two-and-a-half years he married or was sealed to about 30 additional women,[277] ten of whom were already married to other men (this was generally done with the knowledge and consent of their husbands).[278] Ten of Smith's plural wives were between the ages of fourteen and twenty; others were over fifty.[279] The practice of polygamy was kept secret from both non-Mormons and most members of the church.[280]
Great tagline.
Traditional marriage and Mormons in the same sentence? Wut?
