Pope Francis warned the rich and powerful on Tuesday that God will judge them on whether they fed the poor and cared for the Earth

"We must do what we can so that everyone has something to eat. But we must also remind the powerful of the Earth that God will call them to judgment one day," he said. "And there it will be revealed if they really tried to provide for him in every person, and if they did what they could to preserve the environment so that it could produce this food."

God will judge the ‘popes’ subsequent to Vatican II and rather harshly I would think.

This current heretic is probably the worst of the bunch, but that’s not saying anything as they’re all complicit in creating a new religion based on secular humanism.

Well, Pope... Every American taxpayer has ‘fed the poor’,... and the lazy, the criminal; they have in one way or another fed every looter, moocher and unfortunate in the world.... Whether they wanted to or not.

Do ‘alms’ taken at the point of a gun get brownie points at the Pearly Gates?

Satan always perverts the good that God proclaims.
We are to take dominion and make the earth fruitful,
but we are not to worship it,
nor do we derive any righteousness by how much we care.

And the more CO2, the more food, and the greater the diversity of life.

Being nice to mother Earth trumps stopping ISIS and their brutal crusade of raping and torturing Christians?

So the poor, who do the most damage to the earth, get off?

7th commandment

Ok

We also have free will given to us by the same Creator

We enjoy, in America, being good by choice, not as communist subjects

Nothing wrong w being good stewards of the earth. It’s part of conservatism. We don’t need the government to tell us what our morals should be

Especially a corrupt government all of whom, except for one or two, are not good stewards of anything, except their own selfish wants, let alone the environment

This is political

Matthew 25:35

There is plenty of food produced, but there are lots of tin pot dictators who keep the food for themselves and their armies, like North Korea. Africa is just as bad. In this country, there are certainly starving people, but there are also a lot of people and programs trying to fix it. The US is a very generous country and sends food aid all around the world.

While we have dominion over the Earth, it is still God’s creation, and we are called to be proper stewards of it.

There is nothing heretical about what he has said, nor was it focused on the US. Remember, he speaks to a world stage. Maybe the message was for Raul Castro. One last word on that SOB, it would be a tremendous grace and day of rejoicing if Raul returned to God in his heart. Maybe God has let the Pope touch his heart. We will see, I guess.

Maybe we should send the po-po a Bible.

I’m not sure he *has* one.
