**I’m PCA and have never been PCUSA but I feel sorry for many of these fellow Presbyterians who have been deceived for so long.**

See my post #20.

I grew up in the Southern Presbyterian Church that merged with the Northern branch back in the 70s.

Mrs. Gamecock and I attended a PCUSA church when we were first married, moved away and had to attend an Army Chapel. When we moved back to our first city we naturally went back to our previous church. All was fine, or so we thought. We left again, joined a PCA church and were quite surprised at the difference. “What is this strange talk?”

We returned to our original city 5 years later and thought we would be fine at our original PCUSA church. We visited and halfway through the service my wife leaned over and whispered “Don’t ever bring me here again.” I told her it was all I could do not to walk out. It dawned on me that you can easily be deluded into thinking that when you are in a denomination that is apostate that your local church is OK and it is the other churches in your denomination that are wrong.

I guess the scales fell off by hearing the Word of God clearly preached in a PCA church. Or maybe our dead bones were brought to life.

Those few who continue to attend the PCUSA think this slide into secular collectivism is great. Those who read their Bibles left decades ago.

I told her it was all I could do not to walk out.

What's done is done ... but you should have walked out. I have done that, under similar circumstances.

I regret that I did not literally take off my shoes and shake the dust from them on the way out.

I was UMC and visited a PCA church. Like you, I heard real biblical preaching with no cultural baggage for the first time that day. I went to my UM church for about a month after that but it was like drinking acid hearing the way they used scripture. I left and joined the PCA after that.

“PC”USA...

Sometimes you just have to give the Creator kudos for a sense of irony and humor.

Don’t tell me that He didn’t intend for this to mean what we take it to mean:

Ecl 10:2 A wise man’s heart inclines him to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left.

“Their apostasy is not new.”

No one’s is, it just seems that way in full bloom.

How are you guys even still part of PCUSA after it proclaimed the Holy Land was not Isreal but instead South Africa? After that I knew PCUSA was no longer a church organization but a political anti-semite organization who put Palestinkians over the chosen people. PCUSA is no better than the money-grubbing World Harvest Church and their ilk.

My advice is if your church belongs to PCUSA , break away now. If they don’t leave that church because the next thing you will know is that they will be saying is Islam is a ROP and can I have ten bucks please (no really give us a hundred!)

Most would not be happy in the PCA.. There are some newer Reformed denominations that bridge the gap between PCUSA and reformed theology ..

This has no happened in a vacuum this has been a long time coming ...anyone with eyes to see or ears to hear would have been gone years ago

You’re right. I have some PCUSA friends who would not switch to the PCA because we don’t ordain women. I asked them why that is so important and they all said something like “It isn’t fair.”

To that, I follow up with “Do you think that unconditional election is fair?” and they give an explanation that basically refutes unconditional election without actually saying it.

But they all claim to be firmly Reformed. As you said, anyone with eyes to see would have left years ago.

That’s one of the things that are wrong with organized religion...Far too much emphasis on the church (religion) than on God...

Get out from under the bondage of organized religion...Get a bible and a building and start serving God...
