My line of thought is simply that I don't see "one mediator" as the best argument against "praying to the saints"

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one then; however, there is one argument that is difficult to deny: Christ taught the disciples to pray to "Our Father...." Not Abraham, not Moses, not Solomon or David. God the Father. And we pray to Him in the name of Christ --

And yet now, he IS our mediator. One mediator. THE mediator. And the CCC teaches that Mary is mediatrix. That implies that she in some way shares in the ability to provide salvation and grace -- which she cannot and does not -- and, logically, for Catholics to obtain this (false) grace and mediation, what must they do?

Pray to her.

So, in my mind, the "one mediator" argument succinctly puts the whole Mariolatry heresy in the proper perspective of the false gospel it is.

I did say something along these lines in terms of my "scriptural" reference in my earlier post--not in specific terms about the Lord's Prayer, but in terms of the overall scriptural "witness." In other words, I consider this line of argument stronger than other lines.
