Just as a question, as the article states, that sacrilege is a grave sin, if all the priests and above are doing this, who do they go to get real absolution? And in their grave sin state, how does this affect the lay person who needs absolution?
History repeats itself. We had this argument with the blasphemous Novus Ordo and nothing happened, except for small holdouts. Matt’s father was publishing much the same articles in the late 1960s. However, he would not support the dissidents who defended the True Mass.
So today, the son argues against sacrilege. The question is how far will he go to fight this time?
“Simply put, can a Catholic in good conscience continue to attend a parish where the priest has agreed to go along with the New Paradigm?”
The coverup and protection of the sexual predators finished me off.
These questions are similar questions asked by those "wacky" SSPXers and Sedevacantists when they came to the realization that Vatican II and the post Vatican II hierarchy promotes non-Catholic teachings such as false ecumenism and religious liberty. Perhaps now, even if the Trads in the post Vatican II church don't agree with their answers to these same questions, they can at least understand what they might have gone through before making their decisions...and maybe not call them "wacky" anymore.
Now, it may be important here to note that we are no longer talking about a divide between the Traditional Mass and the new rite. With potentially all Catholic priests facing being placed under this edict, whether they celebrate the old or the new rites, we are looking, at last, at an absolute unity of the entire Catholic world, one created by an absolute unity of catastrophe. (A result, one might add, of the grand success of Summorum Pontificum in bringing so many more mainstream priests and Catholics to the glories of the Traditional Mass. Now we really are all in the soup together!)
Again, those "wacky" SSPXers and sedevacantists have been saying all along that this isn't about a divide between the Latin mass and the Novus Ordo mess. This was never about which mass a particular Catholic preferred. It was always about doctrine. Now the indult groups (FSSP, ICKSP, etc) will have to strongly re-visit their stance on things.
Im afraid that I still have to wonder which sand dune hes been hiding his head in for the last few decades. There's no reason to belittle this priest ["Fr. Anonymous"], and by doing so, the author put a damper on her article for me. Christ is well aware of what is going on, and He can fix the problem, but not without people coming to Him (in droves would be nice).
You know that even if the priest doesn’t believe in the Eucharist the mass is licit. So if the pope actually speaks excathater then we will have a problem with him. But as far as I know he has not.
The Holy Spirit is still the guide. Times may get rough, but even as much as we may wonder at the Pope’s words, we can rest peacefully in the knowledge that the Truth will be preserved.
