>>Jesus said repeatedly that we must eat his flesh and drink his blood in order to have eternal life.<<
So He was "repeatedly" encouraging the Jews to break the law and sin by eating blood? Have you decided yet? Were Jesus and the apostles eating real flesh and real blood at the last supper?

All the grace they receive through their baptism and other means is mediated by the Catholic Church, because the Catholic Church is Jesus Christ.
Heretic!
Isn't the little wafer good enough for you?

I have seen a lot of verses ripped from their context. I have seen a lot of gratuitous assertions that those verses prove that Jesus didnt mean what he said. I have seen lots of verses twisted and tortured to say things they clearly dont say.Of COURSE you have!
You are a CATHOLIC!

Can you ever get serious about anything to do with Catholicism. Your snarky, snide remarks are not appreciated by anyone on FR. They are silly and childish.

>>The Church is the Body of Christ, according to St. Paul.<<
No it's not. The ekklesia is the body of Christ. All those called out by God to be His.

This quote by a RCC priest almost slid past without my notice.
If what you say is so, Arthur McGowan, the Roman Catholic Church is truly a body without a Head.

An Intelligent person would ask: "Why?" What specific reason did the Catholic Church have for taking such drastic actions. An intelligent person would not just blindly accept the canned response from a seriously biased source.
It is your move.

How do yu know what and how many sites I go to? Can you read minds? Most were secular sites. I came across many sites when I was doing genealogy research and wanted to learn more about the history of that era. I have always been interested in history.

“How about using the Encyclopedia Britannica, an unbiased secular source...”
Are you saying Schaff LIED and posted restrictions that did not exist?
At the link, belatedly provided, he gives his sources for his quotes. The Oxford restrictions of 1408 are very well known.
Catholic theologians published reasons why the common man should NOT be allowed to read scripture in the vernacular. They argued a common man could not understand scripture - which is still largely the Catholic position: scripture must be interpreted in the light of Catholic tradition and teaching, rather than dominate what the Catholic Church teaches.

when something IS clearly spelled out, they dismiss it as *nonsense*. As opposed to the prots that fall all over themselves denying that "is" means "is"
You know: This IS My Body."

And just where in Scripture are the words *Catholic church* found? Same chapter as Sola Scriptura, Trinity, Believers prayer. I know I have told you this before, please try and remember it for the future.

>>Yet you still cast stones at each other.<<
Titus 2:15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
1 John 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; 11 for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.
1 Timothy 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse!
Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Those that teach something that apostles didn't should be considered cursed by God.
