Mary was not asked. She was told how it was going to be.
repeating 2+2=5 doesn't make that true either. God doesn't force anyone to do anything. (<____ semantic gymnastics)
(Note the simple scripturally sound sentence "She was told how it was going to be.")
And of course, no one said God forced anything on Mary.
God lives outside of time, and sees the past and the future crystal clearly.
He knew what the angel was going to say to Mary, and what her response was.
I've seen it looked at much differently by those that aren't too familiar with the scriptures.
It goes something like this:
Angel: Mary, would you please be the vessel for the birth of Jesus?Mary: Yes
And yet you did...
Then it’s been a good day!
Some can tell ‘em; and some can’t...
Those can get a fella in trouble on FR.
Better that ye tar the entire bunch with yer big brush.
I'd say 'listened to' instead.
Looking implies READING to my mind; and if a person READS it; the TRUE meaning is much more likely to be gained.
Heck!
I’ve caught a fish for ya; and I’ve showed you how to bait the hook; so I may as well show you how to use the net (pun intended...)

look above!
Well thank goodness there is not 99.99% illiteracy now like there was for thousands of years when no one needed a Bible.
BTW, I love your tagline! Truth!
If prots don't want to get smacked down then don't attack the Catholic Church. There is a saying: If Islam lays down it's weapons there will be no war, if Israel lays down there weapons there will be no Israel.
The prots don't want the fight then walk away. The choice is yours.
Please ask the Queen of dodge to clarify; perhaps you have missed her numerous previous posts on the topic.
God lives outside of time, and sees the past and the future crystal clearly.< P>Whoa there buckaroo, that right there is Catholic thought and teaching. You best ask Izzy and the queen of dodge there teachings and get into lock step with them.

Still Catholic thinking, someone might think you are getting ready to Tiber swim.

Simplistic but basically accurate.
the protestant revolution is the fulfillment of that statement.
What a mess!

I’ll try to decipher what ever thought you are trying to get across, you quote me as if I am you.
Hopefully the RM will only warn you about making it personal, about a poster instead of the issues.
If the post is removed, I won’t be able to reply to you.
Interesting other queens are acknowledged besides The Queen of Heaven, the Catholic mary.
I guess you told her!
(If you have a beef with another poster, leave me out of it ok?)
Yes, because it brought us back to the Truth of God’s word instead of the fables and traditions of man.
The preaching of the cross is foolishness to man and spiritual truths are spiritually discerned.
That’s why the Protestant Reformation was needed. To get us back to God’s Word.
Simplistic but basically accurate.
So God didn't know if Mary would become the bearer of Jesus until she gave her consent??? I'll bet God was sweatin' it while waiting to see if Anne and Joe had any female kids...
Thank you for not following the thread and proving me correct once again.
I don't know why NONE of the Gospel writers saw fit to mention the SCRIBE that was stationed at the foot of the cross; the one to READ to passersby what the SIGN said...
And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.Jojhn 19:19-20
