Russia is The Only Center of Non-Slaved Civilization, Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin Believes
Interfax ^ | 2/25/15

Moscow, February 25, Interfax - Russia is called to fulfill its Christian mission, head of the Synodal Department for Church and Society Relations Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin believes.

"Russia is the third Rome. Russia is the only center of non-slaved civilization, which is capable to reveal itself as Christian. Thus, our patriotism is not chauvinism, not a call of the blood, not emotional passion for native land alien to any criticism, first of all, it is understanding the importance of the unique Christian mission which, I believe, our people live for," the priest said in his interview with Politrussia.com

According to him, the identity of Russians is wider than the European one. The priest noted that Europe accumulated its moral capital in the Middle Ages and "Genoa and Venice money-lenders started spending it, then it was made by so-called enlighteners, who declared a man autonomous from God and morals, the measure of all things."

"Then bourgeois structure of the society and state. Then revolution. Finally, we've got what we see in the West: new generations deprived of community, sense in life, values and orienteers. Alas, it is not Europe. It's Babylon. At the best, it's Rome of the late period of decline. The goal of authentic Europe are we, people, who remember about eternal and unchangeable values, knowing what they live and die for," the church official said.

He believes this knowledge is almost lost in the western part of the continent, and then "nations will lose its physical existence: they will just die out."

And interestingly, in South America decades later. Lots of things people ignore about slavery. One I always like is that according to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database, about 10.7 Million were shipped over from Africa.
Of those, about 388,000 came to North America.

About 3.7%,,,

We also hear how the British fought the slave trade, and how the Royal Navy went after slavers. Sounds good, until you realize that the British were actually not wanting competition for their cotton colony in India. And the Raj was not technically slavery.... technically.

I don’t think that Phyletism was a really issue in what Putin did, in that all the Orthodox churches were invited to Moscow as equals to conclave with each other. Even what this Archpriest said was that, in effect, Europe has fallen away from Christianity and faces destruction because of it.

Thus, it is not so much an issue of nationalism, than a statement of where Christian civilization resides, its seat, vs. a continent reclaimed by pagans and atheists.

Actually serfdom was ended in Russia by Imperial Decree on the day before Abraham Lincoln was sworn in as president of the United States. And not a drop of blood was spilled.

I suggest “The Orthodox Church” by Timothy Ware (now Metropolitan Kallistos) and “The Romanovs -Autocrats of All Russia” by W. Bruce Lincoln. Most decent libraries will have books that cover the general history of Europe during these periods. If you want to go waaay back you can also read “Byzantium” (three volumes) by John J. (Viscount) Norwich.

Then why is Russia invading CHRISTIAN countries?

The answer is in the article. Ukraine is looking westward. It increasingly sees its future in the European Union and beyond the Russian axis. Russia seeks to limit the EU sphere of influence, especially in its nearest neighbor. The Russians in Eastern Ukraine support that view and see their future with Russia.

Russian megalomania survived communism.

You got that right.

If the Arabs are Yishma`'el and the Germans are `Amaleq . . . I wonder who the Russians are?

He probably means slavery in the sense of being slaves to the Wall-St/London banking cartels....

Are you trying to find a polite way of saying `Avdei-Khena`an? If so maybe you should just come right out and say it.

Then that puts lie to this notion:

“Thus, our patriotism is not chauvinism, not a call of the blood, not emotional passion for native land alien to any criticism, first of all, it is understanding the importance of the unique Christian mission which, I believe, our people live for,”

If their only argument with Ukraine is that they are aligning with the West, then it is chauvinism, nationalism, etc, and not a “Christian mission”.

As the article points out, Russia sees the West as spiritually moribund. The priest quoted in the article calls it "Babylon".

Russia sees the secular, humanist EU as ground zero for this spiritual malaise and Ukraine's flirtation with the EU as inviting disaster.

The Russian patriarch was outed as a long-time KGB agent a long time ago. That’s probably true for a huge percentage of their priests, if not all of them.

The ROC is still an arm of the Kremlin.

The Russians in Eastern Ukraine support that view and see their future with Russia.

Only according to Moscow. All the polls in East Ukraine, whether by international or local pollsters, have consistently said that separatism is a minority position. Better described as a minority minority position. Even in Donetsk Oblast ethnic Russkies only represent 38 percent of the population. In the actual election, all those areas not under the control of Putin's thugs which were allowed to vote went towards Poroshenko and, thus, towards remaining a part of Ukraine.

The "civil war" stuff is a Russian lie. It is an invasion that gains all its justification through massive propaganda.

Russkies have the highest abortion and divorce rates in Europe. They also have high levels of alcoholism. Only 1 to 2 percent of the population even bothers to show up to their church on an Easter. Statistically speaking they are also not very bright, and have a life expectancy not too far above people who live in third world countries.

Russkies are moral degenerates, and when they call other countries "decadent," they are only angry because those countries are probably cleaner and more decent than Russia.

Ping me when they re-brand sodomy as "marriage" and start persecuting those who disagree, as we are.

Russkies do plenty of sodomy, not just on their wives but on their children too. Russkies beating up homos in the streets is just their way of getting rid of rivals, not because they're so righteous it breaks out in public fury. I'm not kidding when I declare Russia to have a degenerate society. This is what happens after 5 generations of the best, most moral, most intelligent are systematically exterminated. You get a massive trailer park population.

That’s really the biggest irony of the Freepers who admire so much the Russian country. They base everything off of a few statements from Putin or his “orthodox” Preists (who more often than not are “former” KGB agents, and may even have side businesses selling alchohol and promoting Joseph Stalin) and thus they do not know anything about Russian culture. Once you get a peek at how these people actually live, what it is they actually do, you can do nothing except be repulsed.

Imagine what our society would look like if the whole nation was on welfare for 5 generations, and not only that, but the government was killing all the people who showed signs of developing self-respect.

You guys bash the United States like we’re so terrible. In Russia, people still live in huts, have Joseph Stalin calendars on their walls, crap right in front of each, and drink until they pass out while boasting about their superior morality (I have videos I can find if you want to see— Russkies video tape themselves nowadays with their cell phones. This technology was not too difficult for them to make use of.)

You're right, for once. And Russia would agree with you.

You see, irrespective of the relative number of "degenerates" in our respective societies, there is a deeper, more fundamental issue here. In the West, evils such as abortion and homosexual "marriage" are portrayed as good and desirable and evidence of our sophistication and moral development. The traditional family is regarded as passe. Russia at least admits that these things are evil and abortion must be curtailed and families strengthened.

That is the point of departure. Someone who admits their sin and wants to improve can be helped. However, when sin is portrayed as something good, there's not much that can be done.

Historically, Russia is not a godless country. It has a centuries long history of Christianity which was usurped for 75 years by atheists. However, it must be stated clearly, that in historical terms, the aberration for Russia is atheism and not Christianity.

We're heading in opposite directions. Russia is moving out of darkness into light. Our trajectory is the reverse.

You are talking about a nation built entirely on lies and in which abortion and even the possession of child pornography are perfectly legal. You are also talking about a country where it is basically run by a dictatorship, where the parties put up only passive or fake opposition to one another and exist primarily to rubber stamp whatever Putin demands.

Don't you think that if the Russkies actually wanted the end to abortion, the end of the sex-trade, the end of the corruption that exists on every level of society (in Russia you even need to pay a bribe to get your driver's license!), it wouldn't happen already?

You are impressed only by Russke oration. You don't realize that you are not dealing with people who "admit their sin," but a country of hypocrites, an empire of lies.

No.

The effects of seventy five years of godlessness are not going to be completely erased in 20. Russia, like all of us, is a work in progress.

But would you believe it if, by some miracle, it did suddenly happen? Wouldn't it simply be evidence that the conspiracy runs even deeper than previously thought? I have already pointed out to you that Russia's principal bone of contention with Western Europe and the EU is homosexual "marriage" and its spreading enforcement. Russia is adamantly opposed to it but you simply dismiss this as a facade...a fake. Wouldn't other evidence of growing Russian moral fiber simply be dismissed in the same manner?

Time, as always, will tell. A still life snapshot at any given point in time can be interpreted in a variety of ways but as the years and decades pass, the overall picture becomes unmistakeable. Except for those who are permanently stuck in 1962.

There is no need for an elaborate Russian plot to fool America. When America's rapidly approaching demise becomes a reality, it will be obvious to all that our fall was caused not by Russia, nor Islam but by......*drum roll please*....Americans!! We're going to fold from within, like all formerly great civilizations which embraced immorality. If Russians do come to these shores it will be to evangelize us and drag us out of our neo-paganism.
