The Bible
This book contains: the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers.
Its doctrine is holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be saved, and practice it to be holy.
It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the travelers map, the pilgrims staff, the pilots compass, the soldiers sword, and the Christians charter. Here heaven is open, and the gates of hell are disclosed.
Christ is the grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet.

The 27 books of the New Testament have been universally accepted since ca. a.d. 350-400 as inspired by God.Yes. By whom were they universally accepted?

How do we know that God will not amend God does not lie and God does not change? You could ask how do you know.
I dont know but I do have faith and faith is just as good for a born again Christian. I am satisfied with the explanation of faith found in Hebrews 11:1 but I can entertain Mark Twains perception of faith.

However, not one passage from the Apocrypha is cited by any New Testament writerHow then does one explain Jde 1:14 "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,"

3. Since there have not been, nor now are, any authorized prophets or apostles in either the Old Testament and New Testament sense, there are not any potential authors of future inspired, canonical writings. Gods Word, once for all delivered to the saints, is never to be added to, but to be earnestly contended for (Jude 3).
Tell that to Joseph Smith.

A very long article entitled “How We Got The Bible”, and no where is the Catholic Church mentioned. I needed a good laugh. So once more from Catholicism 100, without the Catholic Church there would be no Bible. End of story. This thread should be deleted. Written by John MacArthur, one of the most anti-Catholic evangelicals that ever lived. Send this to that distinguished graduate of Bob Jones I Hate Catholics University.
